PURPLE DREAMDESCRIPTIONMy second pre-made skin. This skin features a dark scheme of purples and dark greys. This skin was originally inspired by a v4 skin request I filled a couple of years ago that included a colour scheme similar to this and the rounded borders on the top of the wrapper. The v4 site I made that skin for died out but I loved the look of it enough to want to make a v5 skin based from it. This v5 version is changed a lot from the v4--as my ideas changed while I was making it--with the information table under the banner, the navigation menu inside the banner and the many remodels I've included. RULES- Keep the credits on. In the skin description, on the bottom of the forum wrapper and all credits that are on in templates and the style sheet for different bits and pieces. They aren't going to make the skin look ugly or more difficult to use so there's no reason to even think of touching them.
- This a a pre-made theme so treat it as such. Don't overly change it. Images, colours and information can be changed but don't go remodeling the boards and messing with the mini-profiles.
- If you like a remodel or anything in the skin, PM me and ask politely for it rather than downloading the skin just to get that remodel. That's stealing and if you ask, I'm more than happy to give you the code for a remodel or help you with things like hovers.
- Don't steal. Most simple rule. Don't claim it as yours or repost it anywhere.
PLUGINS- Hide Avatar Builder: Makes the Edit Avatar page much cleaner. Recommended but not needed for the skin to function.
I cannot guarantee that any other plugins will work with this skin.
INCLUDES- Table for info (welcome, updates, links, spotlight & staff) by myself
- Custom Board Remodel, Info Center Remodel, Thread List & Chatbox/Affiliates table by myself
- Navigation Inside Banner by Picasso
- Hover Mini-Profile by @khristian with staff, member & guest designs by myself
- Conversation List Remodel by o k
- Profile Remodel by @khristian

PURPLE DREAMFirstly, a little intro thingy which you should read if you're going to use this skin. This skin was made with the original purpose of being a roleplay skin, as every skin I make is. This does not mean the skin cannot be used for a forum that isn't a roleplay forum though. With Parchment I saw many people using it for non-RP forums and from seeing that I'm going to include instructions to help anyone who might want to use this skin for non-RP purposes (especially for the mini-profile, which is where most people had issues with Parchment).
The basics: To edit the welcome, updates, links, spotlights and staff you need to go to the Forum Wrapper and scroll down to Line 61. To edit the chatbox and affiliates scroll down to Line 142. Things should be straight-forward to edit. IMAGESThis is probably the first thing you're going to want to change when you install the skin. There are a few different images that can be changed in this skin and I'll list below. - THE BANNER: Your banner image is going to need to be exactly 920px in width, with a recommended height of 300px (yes, you can change the height). The banner is set up normally in this skin so to edit it you need to go to Advanced Styles & CSS > Visual Editor > Header (Top) > Forum Banner > Banner Image. There you'll be able to edit the banner image as well as the height.
- SPOTLIGHT IMAGES: Can be edited in the Forum Wrapper (Layout Templates > Forum Wrapper). Scroll down to Lines 89,90 & 91 and you'll be able to edit the three spotlight images there. You'll just need to replace the "http://placehold.it/90x75" with your 90x75px image URLs.
- STAFF IMAGES: Again, staying in the Forum Wrapper. On Lines 102, 103 & 104. Replace each "http://placehold.it/180x60" with a 180x60px image.
- DEFAULT AVATAR: Go to Members > Forum Avatars. Paste a link to the 220x350px image you want to use for the default avatar in the text field and click "Link Image". Once the image is uploaded you should be able to see it further down on the page, click on that image to make it the default avatar.
- GUEST AVATAR: Go to Structure > Layout Templates > Mini-Profiles. Down on Line 190 replace "http://placehold.it/220x350" with a link to the avatar you want guests to have.
COLOURSIf you're going to be recolouring this skin, I wouldn't recommend changing anything other than the purples which are: 252230 and 6b667d. CUSTOM PROFILE FIELDSFor the mini-profiles to work you'll need to add these custom fields. Go to Members > Custom Profile Fields and enter these in. If they're misspelled, they won't work. WILL SHOW UP IN BOTH STAFF AND MEMBER MINI-PROFILES - 200x100 GIF - Text Field - URL (plain text)
- Music - Text Field - URL (plain text)
WILL SHOW UP IN ONLY MEMBER MINI-PROFILES - Alias - Text Field
- Character Age - Text Field - Numbers Only
- Sexuality - Text Field
- Application - Text Field - URL (plain text)
- Plotter - Text Field - URL (plain text)
MINI-PROFILES Staff mini-profile Member mini-profile If you haven't worked it out by now, there are different mini-profiles for staff and members. The mini-profiles were designed with a one-character-per-account RP forum in mind where staff have separate out of character accounts. This can be changed.
The mini-profiles can be set up so that both staff and members have the "member mini-profile" (which is like a character profile with links to application, plotter, character age, etc.) or they can be set up so both staff and members have the "staff mini-profile". If you would like to have the mini-profiles set up with either rather than both all you have to do is PM me and I'll PM you back the code you need. If you need help after reading this set-up guide, please reply to this thread with the problem you're having AND A LINK TO THE SITE YOU'RE HAVING ISSUES WITH MY SKIN ON. Please, it makes my job a lot easier if you provide a link. It means I can see the problem, inspect element, anything like that to help you.

XaviEo hey there, we're currently using your theme HERE and we're wondering is there a way to center the uneven boards in the board list please? I have a similar template mod, but on my forum i'm not using the width's and tr td's that you have set up on yours and for the life of me I can't figure out how to make these uneven boards centered, without re-writing the whole coding which would be against your rules <3. So if you could advise me on what to tweak please, rather than me messing up your entire work that would be awesome. Thank you.

Hi there Welshling! I've fought with this before, originally meant for the uneven boards to be centered and failed. I use a skeleton by iPoke for side-by-side boards. I can try and re-write the board remodel without all the tables (because tables are ew anyway). This might take me a while, like an hour or so, or maybe less just depends on how well my brain works. I'll go and do that and get back to you once I have those darn uneven boards centered. (: Edit: Actually, I'm currently not even understanding the code. I'm gonna have to do this tomorrow morning, I'm more tired than I thought. All I'll do tonight is mess it up more. xD

LOL XaviEo exactly the way I was thinking. Brian originally helped me out with the board mod you mentioned so its worth shouting the Groovy admin for his assistance maybe. Plus I need to run to one of his plugin threads -one sec-

I feel your pain! And thanks by the way, the theme is very clean and professional look which is why it was chosen and aligning the singular boards center would only enhance it and make it look less gappy... for lack of a better term xD Ok I think i've figured it out, for the most part. I now have the odd board centered but the alignments are slightly off or it could be a padding thing I guess. Um quick question for you margie, well two actually. NB: I'm doing the edits on my forum, not the one linked above because i didn't want to break anything xD 1) have you added any extra css for the welcome table? I can see that its separate from the actual forum (category & boards) but can't seem to find any added css for it? The category titles are also wonky now too... oh and the inside borders for the added tables you added into the board layout, are showing in the center rather than on the far right. I'd need to show you this, cause its hard to explain. 2) if you have an account on my forum, I was thinking we could put our brains together and figure this thing out? If not, that's fine I'm not asking you to join was just wondering is all.

Little late here, my internet decided to stop working the exact second I was ready to open this page. Silly Aussie internet. If you link me to your forum I would be happy to make an account and help you out with fixing bugs. (:

So, I have a quick question.... Why does the theme NOT work in Firefox? I mean, it's a great theme! I love it! But I can't seem to create posts when using Firefox, which is my default browser. :/ Is there a way to fix this?

This is an absolutely wonderful skin and one of the most well-made ones that I've seen, especially since v5 came out. I do have a question about it, though: I can't seem to get the staff mini-profile to work, but the member mini-profile is fine. [ x]
