It's a shame the plugin can't just get the information it needs from the Recently Updated Threads page of the forum itself, or at least from the source of that page's data. I assume you meant the Recently Updated "Posts" page. But yes I agree, this seems like it would work a lot simpler and more effective as it wouldn't miss a post. Also, it seems this way, it would pull the posts made by mobile users also, as they are already on the Recently Updated Posts page. No, I actually meant the "Recently Updated Threads" page. If you look at the Forum Information & Statistics section at the bottom of your main forum page, in the Threads and Posts part you will see four links: Recent Threads - Recent Posts - RSS Feed - Mark All Boards Read Recent posts will take you to a page titled "Recently Updated Posts", which is exactly that, a page of recent posts; but the "Recent Threads" link will take you to a page that is literally called "Recently Updated Threads". It's basically everything you would want in the sidebar, up to date, and already adjusted for user permissions(ie only Staff see posts for the Staff forum etc.).

Great idea, but unfortunately not possible.
There is a way of ensuring the key captures every post, or at least making it very unlikely to, but to keep within the rules I'd have to add another mouse click after a post has been created, not very forum friendly.

It's possible, but not with this plugin. You'd need to use a different key to achieve that, and that in itself could impact on the plugin as the required key has less storage than the current one. and how can i install a clone of the plugin under a different key? if the storage is, for example, the last 25 posts, by adding another 25 posts to sum up 50 is not big deal for a database, right? it would be equivalent to storing 50 posts with one plugin installation. am I wrong on this? You can't install a clone of this plugin to you forum. The only way to achieve what you are asking is for a complete new plugin that can separate the posts and store them in 2 separate keys.

When I delete a post, it still shows in the Recent Threads plug-in, then if it's clicked on it gets a 'post not available'. How do I remove deleted post titles that still show in the Recent Threads plug-in? My forum is here: link Thanks.

Hey PFHave you already tried clicking on the recent threads title bar and choosing which post/s you would like to delete from the selection?

Not sure if this is a problem or not. What's happening is when a user posts on a thread it goes into the sidebar ok, but when I then post a msg in the same thread, their post vanishes from the sidebar and only mine shows up. Any way to have both showing up?? My forum link if it helps things.

The plugin only shows the most recently updated threads, so if a thread currently in the list is posted to, it will effectively move to the top of the list.

Hey PFHave you already tried clicking on the recent threads title bar and choosing which post/s you would like to delete from the selection? Just a confirmation before doing it... To remove a thread, click on the title bar and, when the list of threads open, click on the thread. The thread is, indeed, removed from the editing list but not from the recent threads panel. Should I confirm the removal by clicking Reset Key after to update this change? I am asking because the name of 'Reset Key' suggest 'totally clearing the key' and looks a bit misleading to me. I am not sure if this is the right confirmation and do not want to clear the list.
How do I manage that the changes in the editing list are propagated to the Recent Threads panel?

Yea it is a bit misleading. But yes, just choose your posts and then click Reset Key. The key resets, but not totally. It just resets with the changes you just made. So yea, you're safe to click it without totally resetting the key.

No problem. Yea Todge made a cool and convenient feature when she decided to add that to her code. I found it accidentally.

Hi there,
I don't get it. I tried all instructions here to get the recent posts up and running - it just dont work.
I have set: Recently updated threads: - ID: side-recent_threads
Sidebar Redux: - ID: side-recent_threads - Content: <div id="side-recent_threads"></div>
And nothing shows up, also not when creating new posts/threads etc..
Do i miss anything?

I don't know if this has been asked before but do you think it'd be possible to have the option for it to show an image out of the threads vs text links? Right now I'm using the Thread Icons plugin and was hoping maybe the two could work together somehow? Just an idea, let me know
