Need some expert assistance

One of my members comes to my forum with two different laptops. The first one is fine and no problems.

However, she sometimes needs to use a used one, that she bought off Amazon.

But, when she comes to my site, using the second hand Samsung Chromebook XE303C12-A01UK 11.6-inch Laptop, she gets this. There is a blank band that goes across the screen. This does not happen when she uses her other laptop.




And to make matters even more intriguing, it only happens at my site, but NOT with her other laptop.

Do any of you techies know why this is happening? Thanks.

Hi blc,

Just for the sake of testing, on the Chormebook where they experience the issue, can you have them click the Chrome options button in the top-right hand corner of the browser and then select the New Incognito Window option. With this mode enabled see if that makes a difference.

If the above does not work, let me know. We happen to have the same Samsung Chromebook laying around here somewhere, so I can give it a go just to see if it's specific to them or not

I switched to the incognito mode and it was exactly the same . When I go to quote  a post the line is there and "in the way" .

After doing some testing with the Samsung Chromebook we have, I was able to re-create the issue, but it looks to be caused by the "Theme Transparency" plugin that's installed on the forum. I temporairly disabled the plugin and the issue went away, then returned when I re-enabled the plugin. Strange that it only affects the Chromebook and not a Chrome browser that's installed on Windows though.

Temporarily disable the plugin and see if that does indeed take care of it for you as well. If it does, let the plugin author know about it here to see if they can look into it

I can confirm that the Theme Transparency plug in was the culprit. I disabled it and Gibby's problem went away. Another posted mentioned seeing a 'floating thing' near the top. His issue stopped when I disabled the plug in as well. There is a third person that was having issues as well but I haven't seen them to ask if its fixed for the now but I suspect it is.

I just wanted to add that, for Gibby it was her chromebook that had problems, but other members had problems and they use google chrome on windows.
