We are using the "The Blues" Theme and have two things we don't care for right now.
1. It alters the colors of the posts from White to Black then back to white. First post in a thread is White, 2nd post in a thread is Black, 3rd Post is White again, 4th post is Black and so on. I can't find out how to change that.
2. The quote box color is so dark you can't see what is quoted without highlighting the text.
3. How can I change the text of the quote box?
I am ok with fixing it myself and usually can find it on my own but these two I just can't.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi thcri. I'm not familiar with this theme so if these changes have been made to the CSS/template my instructions won't be much help. To change the post colors go to Admin > Themes > Advanced Styles & CSS Scroll down to Pages > Threads (Post Lists) > Posts Odd-Numbered Coloring and Even-Numbered Coloring are what you want. Enter the new colors in the Background Color fields. To change the quote colors scroll down to Objects > Quotes You can change the quotes in the Preview section by going to Pages > Editors >Preview Editor

Jen, Thanks for your help but I think I just found it. Following your instructions though the options you listed are whited out and the odd and even are set to transparent. See attachemnt But I did find in Admin>Advanced CSS>Visual Editor I could scroll down to posts and change the odd and even text colors and there is a section there also for background. So I think I have it.

Glad you found it. Just a side note. When things are greyed out it just means these areas are not showing in the preview window below. You can still make changes to these sections.

But when I've done it it's because I want the forum's border around the forum to be the background for the posting windows. I've done it with my Brass theme.

One more question please. We want to change the color of the Links that we post. It is Black right now as is the rest of the color of the posts text and gets hidden. We would like to just change the color not the font or the size. How can we do that?
Addendum: We just noticed our News Feed has changed with this Theme. Not only is it displaying the text we inserted , but in addition it is inserting text we did not put there such as "Welcome our Newest Member", and in addition to that is a smiley that we did not insert either. How do we eliminate the additional text?

In the Visual Editor scroll to Body > Containers > Lists (Boards, Threads, Posts...) > Rows > Text > Links Add color to the Text Color field. This will add that color to other links on your forum. To target just the links in posts see if this thread helps. Edited to answer question #2 For the News Feed go to Admin > Settings > News Feed Under Headlines you click the x on the right to delete whatever fields you don't want.

Jen,, first thank you again for your help. As for question #1 that changes everything, way to much. I will review the link for just links in a post when I am on a computer tomorrow. as for question #2 i wish it was that easy but there is two lines being displayed that is not in the place you directed me. In other words we have 6 lines of information scrolling across our news feed but in the Admin > Settings > News Feed there is only 4 lines. I can not X out the two lines we don't want,, they are not there to X out. In our other Themes we don't have these 2 extra lines. i will ill dig more into the Style sheet. It has to be there. again thank you for your help. I will let you know how it works on the first question.
