I need suggestions.
It can't be a comedy or a horror and it can't have subtitles or be in English or French.
It's for a class I'm taking. The idea is that I'm supposed to feel what it's like to be emerged in a different culture where I can't understand the language.

A group of students investigates a series of mysterious bear killings, but learns that there are much more dangerous things going on. They start to follow a mysterious hunter, learning that he is actually a troll hunter.

I have friends in Norway and am trying to learn Norwegian Maybe, Im not fluent in Norwegian but I could follow it pretty well I'm at the point where i can follow parts of texts and tv broadcasts and such. The thing is that there are quite some similarities in words and at times even complete sentences in a dutch dialect I speak called Limburgs and the Norwegian language.

They start to follow a mysterious hunter, learning that he is actually a troll hunter. One of my favourite films is that. Recommend it to anyone. The Counterfeiters is a great German film too. Not sure how that will fit into your criteria though. Most foreign language films i watch are French. Although the last two i watched were actually spanish. Pan's Labyrinth, and The Last Day. One is a fantasy based around the world war, and the other is based on an epidemic of deadly agoraphobia [seriously...]. There was one i watched a few years ago about a guy who wanted to commit suicide. Then i think of two i have seen, although one more recently - The Sea Inside, with Javier Bardem [ again, a great film that i would recommend ] - but the one i was initially referring to turns out is actually in English, but i'll still recommend it - Goodbye Solo. Tsotsi, a south african film is a good watch. It's in afikaans [ a tiny bit of english ], about young man that runs away from home to live in what i can only think to describe as a kind of slums at the moment, and he becomes a leader of a gang after a few years, which the film focuses on. They steal a car which has a baby in it, and he end up looking after the baby, whilst still in the gang. The Wave, is a good german film, which questions whether a dictatorship could exist in modern Germany. It's a very intriguing film, with a couple of ugly turns. The Pool is a Hindi film i saw last year about, unsurprisingly, a pool at a vacant house, and the infatuation an 18 year old illiterate hotel cleaner has with it. When the owners turns up, he tries to strike up a relationship with them. It's essentially a boy aspiring for better things in the back drop of an Indian city. That's all that instantly come to mind. Not sure they will help you, but it's been interesting remembering some of the films i have enjoyed in the past

Thanks guys, you rock. I think I might consider watching more than one of these, as they seem pretty interesting.
I guess this could turn into just a general foreign film discussion now, as I have more than enough to work with here.

I guess this could turn into just a general foreign film discussion now, as I have more than enough to work with here. In that case, I recommend these Korean movies. "I Saw the Devil", "Oldboy", and "Sympathy for Lady Vengeance" are all violent horror/psychological thrillers. A Moment to Remember is a really depressing drama. "My Scary Girl" is kind of a horror/comedy. I can also recommend a few Korean TV shows if anyone is interested. I love horror/scary movies. Which of the ones you listed would you say is your favourite?
