I hear people talk about this show all the time, so I figure there must be something appealing about it. Problem is, I can't figure out what. I've watched the first season and half of season 2 on Netflix, and I gave up after the barn-opening episode because I found the whole thing so incredibly boring. I don't like any of the characters, and pretty much any snail could beat the plot in a race. My question is: Does the show get better? I imagine it has to, since it's so popular, but I don't want to risk wasting 30-some hours of my life catching up on it if the characters remain stale and the plot never goes anywhere interesting (or anywhere at all). I've heard season 5 starts off with something cool, but I'd like some assurance that seasons 2-4 include cool things as well.

Objectively speaking? No, not much. Though, it should be said that season 2 is widely considered the weakest and most dragging part of the show.
At this point, I think a lot of people are watching it just because we're already bought in and just want to see how it wraps up.

Now that I read it. Yes. Season 2 get's interesting after the Barn Door. I'm finishing up Season 4. Yes at some parts to get slow and you get antsy. But I think it's all on purpose.
It's like. You didn't have to show us this part, but you did. Why? But then a few scenes later. HOLY Mother of!!!! Wuttt!?
So yeah. It really is the worth to watch. Season 3 is interesting. Season 4, is sad, but very wowwing. Some things made me go wtf?? because of some stuff. But yeah. Keep watching.

IMO it's not worth it. I really like the games w/ Clementine but the show itself is pretty poor. Most of the ppl I know are watching it to see how it ends.

I saw the first series, and thought it was alright, but didn't really inspire me to keep going. I intend to at some point, because I've been repeatedly told that it gets a lot better. I absolutely love the game in xbox though. I'd recommend that over the TV series.

My other half loves it, but I find it a too much of a slow-burner for me. I can tell that it's well written and I can see why people love it but I can give or take it. I think daniel summed it up for me; people are watching it out of duty having bought into it early on and don't want to give up on it. I'm a big Andrew Lincoln fan though, all the way back from his Teachers days.

And, I had no idea who Andrew Lincoln was before this. Obviously I knew of Norman Reedus. But everyone else on the show I had no clue they even existed until this series.

I am super picky about the shows I watch. Usually I never stick with it and after the first three episodes I never ever watch it again. Tried Sherlock, Lost, Heroes, Supernatural, never really got too far in those. The Walking Dead is worth it, though, in my opinion. What makes it later on is not really the gore but the producers take a lot of input from fans and there are some really crazy scenarios. And the relationships in it are really neat too. The first season.... I didn't like so much. I hate zombies. They terrify me and are not fun. I love every other part of it though, after the first season.

I have never watched this show. A buddy of mine gave me the first two seasons on DVD to watch, just haven't had time between all my other shows. My mother said it is awesome... So I'm kind of anxious to see how it is!

Maybe its run its course? The zombie fad in general pretty much has Tell that to Syfy in the states. A new zombie show just launched on Friday nights. I believe they are up to episode 3.
