Forum URL: santa-barbara.proboards.comHi, I have a question regarding smileys in quick reply. I now use the 'Smilie Dropdown' plugin. Is there a way to have smileys displayed above the quick reply field instead of a dropdown option? It was possible in v.4 and it made the board look much nicer, since not only we have smiley, but bunch of different images as gifts, and it was easier to have them above the quick reply and like I said much nicer. Thanks in advance,

Hi You will need to make a post in the plugin support topic. There should be a link to this topic within the plugin's setting page.

you prefer the smileys to be shown like they were in V4 without no effort on your part such as clicking a smiley button to get a list of smileys so here is a code you can drop in your global footer to always have your smiley faces show. You don't need this plugin or any plugin to use the code and I frankly haven't tested it for conflicts with any plugins or even tried it installed on a forum but it should look like the preview image following the code with any additional smileys you might add in your admin panel code:<script type="text/javascript"> $(function(){ /* Always Show Smiley Menu */ $('.wysiwyg-smiley-menu').each(function(i,e){ var $button = $(e).data("menu").options.button, $editor = $button.closest('div:not(.group)'), $menu if($editor.length){ $menu = $(e).clone(true).addClass("pinned-smiley-menu") $menu.data("menu").element = $menu; $menu.data("menu").options.onClose = function(){$menu.show();} $menu.css({ position:"static", width: "auto", display: "block", zIndex: "auto", border: "0 none", boxShadow: "none" }) .removeClass("ui-menu") .find('.no-smiles').css("display","none").end() .find('li').css("height","auto").end() .wrap('<div class="group no-hide ui-helper-clearfix"></div>').parent() .appendTo($editor) $menu.menu("option","clickHide",false) $menu.menu("enableAllOptions"); $button.hide(); } }) }) </script> and here is a preview I haven't checked lately but I know in the past the smiley dropdown plugin would detect if the quick reply buttons plugin was installed and add to the smileys already there instead of creating a separate dropdown.

Hi, thanks a lot for the reply, I tried it and it works fine for Reply, but not for Quick Reply Quick reply doesn't normally come with a smiley button but the plugin I mentioned would add it. The code should then work on quick reply as well.
