DescriptionAttempt to send a PM to a user added to this plugin and their customized message will pop up when the Create Message screen loads. You can add whatever message you want so long as it's 1,000 characters or less. Also comes with the option to add customizable template variables to messages, enabling you to insert large blocks of HTML or text into your popup message with a shortcut phrase. Hover over a variable when editing your PM popup to see the HTML it outputs. Uses 1 Super Key. Features- Allow specific users to add their own PM popup message, or enable everyone on the forum to add one! - Template variables that automatically output preset text - Default PM popup message can be specified for users who haven't added their own Preview

Brian, I was wondering if it's possible for the pop up to display the incoming message? Instead of a custom one. Thanks!

Brian, For example: I send you a message simply saying "Hey, how is everything going?" The popup would then show on your end, showing "Hey, how is everything going?" I hope that makes sense.

That's not possible. Sorry. The purpose of this plugin is to show a predetermined message, not provide notifications.

Hey Brian. I was wondering how to put styles (such as boldface, italicized, underlined) text onto the PM Popup Message, and same for links. I noticed that you have links in yours. Thanks

Hey Brian. I was wondering how to put styles (such as boldface, italicized, underlined) text onto the PM Popup Message, and same for links. I noticed that you have links in yours. Thanks The links are done via variables specified in the plugin settings. You can try adding variables for the opening and closing HTML tags for each of those things but if it doesn't work (which it most likely won't), it doesn't work. I didn't design it with anything other than text in mind.

Would that be something that you would be able to add in the future if you were to 'update' this Plugin? If so, that would be my request, if you will consider it. Thank you for your help, Brian

Thank you for your help, Brian I have no plans to add anything like that due to high potential to either break the plugin or exploit it. Sorry.

I didn't even know either of those would be possible by adding those functionalities. Thank you!

I have set up my custom PM pop up message
However, when I asked two of my staff members (one admin, one moderator) to test this for me (by sending me a pm) they reported not seeing the PM pop up message that I had wrote.
Something I have set up wrongly? Or it because it is a message between two staff members?

I tested this between both of your accounts and as far as I can tell both of you should see each other's messages.

Hello Brian , Wonderful Plug-in which should, among other things, circumvent some problems we anticipate over at GN2. We have a few members who have been very active contributors who now fall under the category "Dearly Departed". This Plug-in gives our staff the ability to notify those who might be looking for advice from them, to not expect an answer and to instead choose another contributor or staff member as a source of advice. Unfortunately there is just one sniggly bit. Any member who makes an account after the plug-in was activated will automatically be set to "PM popups visible to you?" = Yes and they will view any pop-ups, unless they go to their profile and opt-out. This part is good.Any member who made their account before the plug-in was activated will not see the PM popups. For those members, they must go to their profile, click the "Edit PM Popup" button. The default values are both set to YES, so all they need to do is click SAVE on the dialog window. But unless they actively go to their profile and save those settings, they won't get any popups when attempting to PM other users. This part is not good.Since this potentially affects over 3000 users on our forum, it would be great if they were automatically set to view popups without taking any action of their own. Is there a simple code fix I could make to the "components" tab of the build?

Retread, I can't seem to duplicate this issue on my test forum regardless of what settings I have enabled. I also went to your forum and logged into a completely random user account from 2008 that has never used the plugin, visited the profile of a user who has a message configured, then clicked the Send Message button. The popup successfully appeared contrary to what you described. Seems to be working to me!

Brian , thanks for looking into this. I have two extra accounts on GN2 which I use for the purpose of seeing what non-privileged users can see. Yesterday those accounts did not trigger pop-ups. Today they do. Perhaps there was some sort of local glitch on my end. Since all seems well now, I'll thank you for your time and effort. Sorry to be a bother. Ted.
