Hi @queenfantasy
Critique Key: Poor, Fair, Good, Very Good, Excellent
First Impression: Very Good
This theme designer did an impeccable job and if I could give the designer a better rate than excellent, I would! But since I'm critiquing your additions, had to go with Very Good because I do feel the banner is too "heavy/dark" and kind of doesn't work with the crisp contrast of the red and other light colors. It would actually be a tricky feat to make your current banner really work well with that theme and I wish I had a graphic program to play around with ideas. (Desk top died & no graphics program on my laptop) One thought comes to mind would be to separate the background from the people and try to create a contrast between those two. (Sorry, I wish I had some better suggestion for a fix on that).
This is probably just me but I've never been a huge fan of a really contrasty site. Meaning very dark colors against super light colors. My eyes don't like adjusting between such huge contrasts. If it were me I probably would of went with just a shade or two darker on the background/lighter colors. But that said, I'm sure others love it and wouldn't change a thing so just take my view with a grain of salt.
Layout: Very Good
Of course most of the layout is giving credit to the designer. But for your part, I give you the same, very good. My one suggestion would be to keep just two boards in your first category so it flows with the rest of the site and doesn't have that one board looking out of place. Perhaps just move "Announcements and Updates" in with "Important Information" since it is important?
I love the titles of your categories and sets your site apart from others and unique!
As a guest, in the menu bar on the right where it says, "Guest", the font used seems to squish the text and is a bit hard to read. Since you used all caps in your titles maybe it would look better in all caps too. Or maybe change the text color to white and see if it is more readable. Another option would be to add "letter-spacing: 1px;" to the #welcome text. Might want to play with that a bit to make it more readable.
I'd also get a "guest" avatar in that welcome area instead of just a blank image.
I'm not sure if this was intended by the theme designer but the "Users Currently Online" and the "Active in the Last 24 Hours" title bar doesn't seem to follow the rest of the title bars and seems wrong to me or not intended.
Other than that, I love your layout and what you done to put your touches on it.
Content: Good!
Just glancing over your content I don't see any misspelled words, however, some of your sentence structure seems a bit awkward.
Example: For this site and role playing the location is left up to you and your character/members you role play with.
Maybe something more simple like: The role playing location is left up to you. Or The role playing location is left up to you and your characters.
Or: Locations should be decided between you and your role playing partners.
Example: When you start your thread with a group or your character a location will be needed.
Probably should have a comma after character: When you start your thread with a group or your character, a location will be needed.
Example: You can even go further and list the town or stretch of road, we are not picky. But it helps to figure out where your character or group is.
Maybe: You can even go further and list the town or stretch of road, but we are not picky. It just helps to figure out where your character or group is located.
Example: When you are registered please edit your profile, you will see a text field saying 'group' please put loner if you are not in a group.
Maybe: After you are registered and logged in, please edit your profile group to "loner". (And then give brief instructions on how to edit their profile and where they can find the "group" setting.)
I tried not to change your original sentence much with my suggestions so they still aren't ideal. Just might want to play around with your wording and sentence structure.
Overall I think your site is pretty fantastic. Nice job Queen of Fantasy and many kudos to the theme creator, ALISHA.
