I'm watching this with subtitles, even though it's against my religion to condone reading with movies. It's turning out pretty good. www.imdb.com/title/tt3303728/

I used to all the time when I was in my teens and 20's. There was a independent movie house about 3 blocks from where I lived and they played foreign films there all the time.

I'm actually a fan of watching Chinese films that are set centuries ago, and are martial arts based. Typically some stuff with people like Jet Li or Jackie Chan in (although Jackie Chan not as much, since he does more stupid / comedy ones and not "serious" - I'm not a fan of them being able to fly all over the place (think of something like Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon - dislike that kind of stuff so much).
But yeah in short, I do. I think having to read subtitles actually helps submerge you even more into the story, cos you're actually having to concentrate on the writing AND watch the action/picture unfold.

I've got no problem watching films with subtitles, and I used to love the early Jackie Chan films. This also extends to tv series as well like The Returned (Les Revenants).

I've seen some foreign films, but it's mostly anime. My husband doesn't really like subtitles, and I can't stand dubbed live action, so we don't tend to watch them unless they're animated.

Not a great fan of chinese or japanese movies, but enjoy watching european [ french, german, spanish, scandinavian etc ] movies, and indian / hindu films. Depending on the subject of the film ... don't enjoy them all, obviously.

So if there's a sign in the film you have to pretend you don't know what town they just entered? I'm confused. Anyway, I used to watch a lot of foreign films. Babette's Feast is a favorite of mine. www.imdb.com/title/tt0092603/

I watched La Rivière du Hibou earlier today. It's the Twilight Zone episode "An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge"
