So it has to do with the fact that it's appearing in a post. I know we do have some systems in place that do things based on post content (e.g. VigLink turning product names into links to earn you money), but it doesn't look like any of those are active on your forum so they shouldn't be taking effect.
It may not yield anything, but I'll ask tomorrow at the meeting if anyone has any ideas for what might be happening to those embedded products.

Excellent, thanks for trying! If you can't figure this out and I build a store on Amazon, can I imbed it on my board using this? <frameset rows="80,*" border="0"> <frame src="INSERT_YOUR_PAGE_HERE" name="topFrame" frameborder="no" scrolling="no" noresize="noresize" /> <frame src="http://astore.amazon.com/weilossur0c-20" name="mainFrame" frameborder="no" /> </frameset>

Forum URL: weightlosssurgery.proboards.comOur main vitamin source will be going out of business, so I thought I would recreate her inventory with an Amazon Associates account. I would like to post each vitamin in a separate post so I can comment on it. Is there anyway to post the following and have it show up in a thread? <iframe style="width:120px;height:240px;" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" scrolling="no" frameborder="0" src="//ws-na.amazon-adsystem.com/widgets/q?ServiceVersion=20070822&OneJS=1&Operation=GetAdHtml&MarketPlace=US&source=ac&ref=qf_sp_asin_til&ad_type=product_link&tracking_id=weilossur0c-20&marketplace=amazon®ion=US&placement=B0051HZKKM&asins=B0051HZKKM&linkId=RBS2KBUI227WIBTK&show_border=true&link_opens_in_new_window=true"> </iframe> This is what it should look like: View AttachmentThank you for your help! Probably not that method of store embedding, goodkel, though possibly on a custom page. That seems to be for standalone websites at first glance.

You must be psychic. I haven't used custom pages , yet, but I was just reading up on them. I've got the store started and will try embedding what I have on my test board later tonight.
Ya'll are so awesome for helping me.

Something to keep in mind though is that International members need to use the Amazon link for their countries. Someone in the UK can't use the US Amazon link. Different currencies.

Good to know blc thanks! I have less than ten international members, so I don't think it will be much of a problem. I'm not familiar with the Affiliation program. I am entirely new to this. I will look into it. I'm just trying to fill in the blanks for a trusted vitamin supplier who is selling her business for health reasons and has stopped restocking her inventory. Some of our vitamins can't be found in local stores. I hope the custom page works for my store. Thank you for suggesting it!

I spoke to our devs about the in-post product issue today, goodkel, and there's a good chance it's happening because of existing coding in place to allow VigLink to do its thing. It's unlikely that the VigLink system will be modified or removed to allow for this use case since it's a bit outside of what the software supports, but I've made a note to look more into it when I can to see if there's some way to get around the problem. I think the ability to be able to feature products in posts and then have a discussion around them could be a pretty valuable inclusion. Whenever I can take another look at it, I'll let you know what I find.

Meanwhile, blc has given me an off thread tutorial about custom pages and, as you suspected, this code does not work there, either.
<frameset rows="80,*" border="0"> <frame src="INSERT_YOUR_PAGE_HERE" name="topFrame" frameborder="no" scrolling="no" noresize="noresize" /> <frame src="http://astore.amazon.com/weilossur0c-20" name="mainFrame" frameborder="no" /> </frameset>
Using the Amazon Affiliate program and custom pages she has created a store on the board in his signature. Very nice, but she said it was a pain in the butt putting together. I may futz with that a bit, but I have already been treading in water over my head with this, and he said that choosing specific items might not be possible.
I may have to admit defeat and just keep the store on Amazon no matter how much I dislike sending my members offsite.
Thank you for all your help with this. You've put at lot of thought and effort into my problem and I really appreciate it. I would love to know if you ever find a solution.
Thanks again,
Kelly

This looks to be a case of mistaken entity, the ®ion= is being converted into it's character equivalent leaving "®ion=" in its place and leaving that URL severely mangled. This is a great example illustrating why converting ampersands into their HTML entity is the recommended course of action, setting it as "&region=" would leave no room for misinterpretation.

This looks to be a case of mistaken entity, Thanks for the extra pair of eyes on this! That certainly clears the confusion up a bit. goodkel, with that tip in mind, we should be able to use any product now by grabbing the iframe code given to you by Amazon and then taking it into your favorite find-and-replace engine to replace ampersands with their HTML equivalent so the URL isn't made invalid with ®s. Using the site I just linked as an example, paste your HTML into the largest, bottom box. Then, in the first box labeled "Find this", simply put a single "&". Then, in the second middle box, paste "&". Finally, click the button labeled "Find and Replace Text". Copy the result from the largest bottom box and use that in your post. This would work to show the product we've been testing with, for example.

When I use Find and Replace this: <iframe style="width:120px;height:240px;" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" scrolling="no" frameborder="0" src="//ws-na.amazon-adsystem.com/widgets/q?ServiceVersion=20070822&OneJS=1&Operation=GetAdHtml&MarketPlace=US&source=ac&ref=qf_sp_asin_til&ad_type=product_link&tracking_id=weilossur0c-20&marketplace=amazon®ion=US&placement=B0051HZKKM&asins=B0051HZKKM&linkId=RBS2KBUI227WIBTK&show_border=true&link_opens_in_new_window=true"> </iframe> Becomes this: <iframe style="width:120px;height:240px;" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" scrolling="no" frameborder="0" src="//ws-na.amazon-adsystem.com/widgets/q?ServiceVersion=20070822 &OneJS=1 &Operation=GetAdHtml &MarketPlace=US &source=ac &ref=qf_sp_asin_til &ad_type=product_link &tracking_id=weilossur0c-20 &marketplace=amazon ®ion=US &placement=B0051HZKKM &asins=B0051HZKKM &linkId=RBS2KBUI227WIBTK &show_border=true &link_opens_in_new_window=true"> </iframe> This doesn't work, but neither does your spoiler posted above. Looks like you might have had a line break immediately before the ampersand, goodkel (e.g. it was on the second line of the find-and-replace box), so every time an ampersand occurs, a new line is created. Also, you might have done it backwards? The final result should result in all ampersands being converted to "&".
