Forum URL: allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/A few members on the allaboute-cigarettes proboards forum, myself included have noticed that recent updates threads emails have been sent as plain text, not as the usual HTML we are accustomed to. Many people use these emails to quickly acces new posts on hreads they are involved in, but now can no longer click on links to quickly acces these threads. Have you changed something at your end recently?

Hey there thatguyAAEC,
What e-mail provider do you use? Is it Gmail, Hotmail, perhaps an address provided by your ISP? I just want to make sure I check this from the same viewpoint as you to verify the issue.

Could you forward one of those malformed e-mails to dclark@proboards.com, Chrissie? I'd like to take a look

This is what I see from the e-mail you sent, Chrissie (with some details obfuscated): I assume that's not what you sent?

No it isn't quite what what I sent/initially received. The "read more" wasn't a link.

Can I ask what website/application you use to view your e-mail messages?

I see that one other user seems to be viewing their messages through Windows Live Mail as well -- does everyone experiencing the issue also do the same by chance?

I don't think so David, but I'll tag them all on that thread to try to get them to give the relevant info It's nearly 11p.m. here in the UK, so I may not get much response till the morning Thanks again for your help.

Our systems team has quite a bit on their plates at the moment as well, Chrissie, so we have some time to get the relevant details.

I've had quite a few replies, so I'll C&P them here "Thunderbird 38.0.1 Desktop Application on Win7 downloading IMAP from GoogleMail" "Tried Thunderbird (versions 31 and 38) Outlook 2010, and virginmedia webmail. All have the same issue. Virgins webmail accounts are based on gmail so not surprised the issue is the same there. PinkyPuff uses a gmail account via thunderbird 38 and also has the problem. ps... checked the source code of the message and it is definitely sent as plain text not html. Unless google is converting it, it looks like it is a proboards issue. edit....tried pop3 and imap with no change." "Windows live for me, that runs through laptop and android tablets and phones." "gmail via outlook (IMAP) on Win7 Ultimate (SP1) Chrissie. No issues and never had one. 5 PM notifications from yesterday. Links look and work just fine." "Just looked at the source code of the last message I received which was good, on 21/06 and if you look at msg #1 here it is totally different, there is none of the pb-email-break stuff: Received-SPF: Pass (proboards.com: domain of noreply@proboards.com designates 174.122.238.251 as permitted sender) receiver=proboards.com; client-ip=174.122.238.251; envelope-from=<noreply@proboards.com>; helo=localhost.localdomain; The following threads you participated in on ALL ABOUT E-CIGARETTES UK have been updated: OWL sqounker groupbuy focalecig: allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/threads/recent/54105" "Okay, been looking at other mulipart messages that I receive and found this main difference, don't know if that is the cause or not: MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <-----------This line on all others is where I have marked < Here below Content-Type: multipart/alternative; charset=UTF-8; boundary="__pb-email-break__" --__pb-email-break__ Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8 < Here --__pb-email-break__ Content-Type: text/html; charset=UTF-8; < Here" Hope some of the above will be of help. There are also some screen shots on the thread that I could post here if you need them

Thanks for passing these along, Chrissie. That helps to shed some light on the situation. I'll continue trying to reproduce the issue!
