The gathering darkness. Also, the cool weather is a welcome change from the non-cool weather. It comes with less sunlight, less bug presence, less noise, and less people, all vast improvements over the summer months. One of my favorite things about Fall/Winter is that people stay inside and don't bother me. I dislike most of my neighbors immensely, luckily they seem to not like cold weather. Works fine for me.

Never thought about it that way until now. Fall just became my favorite time of the year!!

It's officially fall, yet it's still in the 70's, 80's and even 90's sometimes where I live. I can't wait until it really cools off, the leaves start to change colors, and I'm even looking forward to Halloween. What are your favorite things about fall? I wish it were still that high for me. We've been dropping down into the 50's the last few days and I know today it didn't even reach 60. D:

Autumn is my favourite time of year [as those of you who know me, already know!]. I love the smell, the feel.....the whole atmosphere! That damp, dark, decaying smell.....I'm sure you know what I mean. It's also the last harvest of the year, the witches' 'New Year' and a time for reflection and creativity. A time for saying goodbyes and moving on from those negative people in our lives. It's a time to honour, remember and celebrate our departed loved ones. Halloween is an ideal time to do this. Lay a place for a loved one at your table, pour them a glass of their favourite tipple, light a candle in their honour.....remember and talk about them fondly!
