P̌̓aͧś̀t̀u͒le͆o͂2̀3̃̓ , or anyone for that matter who's familiar with Peter's Monetary System, I'd like a modification if possible. In the Wizarding world, wizard money is called Galleon(s), Sickle(s), and Knut(s). I would like a plugin modification that will allow me to use those as the money type on a site. It should also work with the sign on bonus and monetary shop. The exchange rate should be as correct as possible. Here's what I found: Additionally, it's been said that a "Galleon" is equal to five British pounds

Like choose galleons and everything will be in decimal form for sickles and knuts? As far as changing it, the monetary system is base 100. You can't create multiple currencies like you describe. Also the only person that could add this option to the plugin is peter himself.

I don't believe you can already do this as I'd want it to read as:
1000G 2S 43K
or something to that effect. Even if you did it in decimal form there'd be no way for me to change the template to show the currency like that.

(the coding, type bits?) Basically, in build plugin mode? Or can it be made so that we can edit it and such? Obviously, your credits. I'd never change that any way.

You do not appear to have the knowledge to modify the plugin, and you asking if it's editable in the "ACP" shows that. Only someone with experience will know what to do without needing any instructions.

Peter, I may not have the knowledge of how to do that, but having access to that stuff would help me to "learn." I've been learning a LOT of new things lately, especially in javascript. To be honest, I'd love to build a whole new plugin from scratch for both a money system and shop, but until then, I need something that works and that I can modify. If you could shed some light on how I could modify it, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I should have said maybe you, virgil, and chris could add that Seriously though i've looked over the monetary system and it is well documented and organized, but for the magnitude of the request I highly doubt anyone would be willing to do it but you yourself is what I meant. Especially not a novice or myself.

Teg, You seem to be missing a key thing I have posted multiple times to you and other people. The plugin is OPEN SOURCE. You can view all the code you like. Still confused? Go read the first post of my bigger plugins that you want the source for. However, someone starting out should not jump into the source of big plugins, it will just confuse you, and you will likely throw in the towel. I suggest you go and read the topics / posts of Lynx in the plugin dev board. Me and Chris have posted good information on where to start.

I understand fully what you meant, but feeding wrong info to people is not good, and usually comes back and bites me, as I'm the one who as told them to make the request due to the plugin being open source. I know only a few here are capable (more than you listed actually), you included, and I understand many don't want to do it either, I get that. While I do consider your code to be messy, I think you have potential, and far from novice. Am trying to come off the nicest way possible, but sometimes telling it how it is, is easier

Peter: I could fork your PBMS repo and put in the change, but that still leaves the issue of what changes you'll permit to the UI and how to put those in. If I add a select-one for "Special Currency" at the bottom of Settings > Text Replacements in the .pbp with "Default" and "Wizarding World" as the only two options, would you pull that in? I don't know what tool you're using for packing (I didn't think Proboards even allowed it), hence you'd either have to point me to it or do that part yourself.

I'd be interested in multiple currency but with similar conversion rate to wizarding world currency (just different names mainly) Sure. You'd have to give me the spec, though. I'm almost thinking I could drop the select-one and put in a field that accepted a string like 1G 17S 29K which would act both as the formatting string for the currency and as the conversion spec (29 K to the S; 17 S to the G). Hence if somebody wants to transact in Crowns, Silvers, Coppers, and Bits, with 10 Silvers to a Crown, 100 Coppers to a Silver, and 10 Bits to a Copper, they'd enter a spec like Ye Loot: 1 Cr, 10 Si, 100 C, 10 B. Any transactions would be assumed to be in the lowest units unless users specified a unit when transacting (e.g. "1 Cr"). But let's see if Peter is amenable to my bulking up his plugin first.

So your special currency is still going to be base 10? Or are you going to make it where it does the base currency and you can sub-divide it into bigger units from there with some fancy text?
