what are plugins and how do I use them

Thank you...ok so say I see a cool plug in...what are the steps to getting them to work...I have very basic proboards/pc skills.

Thank you...ok so say I see a cool plug in...what are the steps to getting them to work...I have very basic proboards/pc skills.

You go to your admin panel click plugin click import plugin and then set it up if needed (.pbp file)
Sometimes if you are in the library you can install it directly to your forum with the install on forum option

Do they just imnediatly start working? Can an average poster figure most of them out?

Depends on the plugin, some do, some don't.
You can look at the plugin support page for instructions on how to figure it out.
However most are self explanatory since there is a little ? icon you can hover over to see explanations on what each option does.
