Yeah the problem is that some members like to log in and then just chat on the saybox and not post on the main forum. So after 5mins or so they vanish from the users online list and its hard to know who's online to chat to on the saybox.

Hi Jon! (It's Jon's forum) Right, Socal cannot help with this, as it's direct proboards stuff. The way I see it, somewhere in the main proboards coding, is the five minute setting. Why can't that be changed to half an hour?? Can this be earmarked for code requests? bugs? anything??PLEASE MAY SOMEONE FROM PROBOARDS LOOK INTO THIS??5 minutes is such a short time and it really is driving us insane!

Users will appear as 'online' for 15 minutes after their last click on the forum. This is standard accross every forum system on the net.

I would have to say that, seeing as it does not actually count who is viewing, it would be very difficult. It olny counts who has been active in the past few minutes. that..... SUCKS! There must be a way of telling it somewhere to change the inactivity period from 5 minutes to something a bit more realistic?! A possible solution to your problem posted at SoCal. A starting point.
