Making starting threads a payed privledge

Hello all,

I am considering making my board such that anyone can view threads and post replyies to threads, but only paying members can start new threads. I would like to make it perhaps $5/year/member for thread starting privileges. Can this be done using proboards?

You can restrict thread creation on a board by board basis based on member groups by going into a board's permissions and setting 'Who can create threads on the board...' to include or exclude whichever member groups you want. But payment for such a thing would need to be done separately from Proboards such as through a paypal button.

Thanks! And I`m assuming that I can not set it up so that as soon as they donate they get full thread posting privileges? I looked and I can not find anywhere that will let me do that. So I would have to change it manually, correct?

That's correct. We don't offer any integration options in that regard. Sorry!
