I agree with Trump saying they should be fired for disrespecting the flag, and we don't pay him, he donates every pay check, just saying. I don't do politics, and I don't want them in my football game, so I'll choose the easy solution and not watch, as will a bunch of other football fans. Lot of money already lost this season by the NFL with ratings down and less attending games. Who needs it? I love the NFL, but I love my country and the flag I defended in the USAF and the Iraqi war more. To each their own, but until it stops, won't watch a game. We don't pay him? He donates the salary? He'd have nothing to donate if we didn't pay him. And what about every Secret Service man for every family member? Every trip to his many homes, golf courses, etc.?
We, the taxpayers, are paying him big time. He promised no vacations while he railed and railed for years about Obama and his golf outings. Now, in less than one year, he broke that promise and travels and plays more golf than Obama in eight years. His pay check is chump change compared to everything else. He was on the job and called these men SOB's. He should be fired.
All protests at the time they were occurring were reviled by many in the white community ~ MLK, Mohammed Ali, Rosa Parks, etc.. But history proved those protesters right and those who reviled them wrong. Time will do the same with the NFL and those players willing to stand up for the injustices committed against their community.
To each their own is absolutely right. I couldn't agree more. And that's exactly what POTUS should have respected.
The NFL is losing nothing. This POTUS has a mere 33-40% approval rating. It doesn't get higher. He appeals to a very, very small base.
SOLDIERS SPEAK OUT ON KAEPERNICK: His protest 'makes him more American than anyone.

Yeah, guess it depends on where you get your news. The fact that in the first nine months Trump has done more than Obama ever dreamt of isn't reported by CNN, because, fake news and they don't like him. That's fine. Watch Fox News to see what this guy has already accomplished not to mention how well he handled helping people involved in the hurricanes and now helping Puerto Rico.
Anyway, I just want to watch football, and won't if a knee is taken during the anthem. Funny how all the teams and players are backtracking after terrible ratings and the NFL losing almost $200 million so far. That's a bit more than the NFL losing nothing. You should check it out.
And, yeah, Trump likes golf, sue him. He works harder than any president we've had in quite some time. Again, you should check it out on a non biased news channel.
BTW, after the terrible ratings and losing $200 million, I noticed no players took a knee Thursday night, not one. Hmm, maybe the NFL realized it's fan base loves America. Watch it stop, good stuff.

What shouldn't I be serious about? The fact that the media trashes Trump even though he does good things, or the fact that the NFL is losing a ton of money with the ridiculous protests? Both are facts, so which would you like to start with?

I was reading that some police departments are changing their sirens out to play the national anthem. That way, the bad guys stop and take a knee instead of running. ?

Bengals' first win this season! It's even better that it's against the Browns, a still winless team so far. I take great pleasure in Cleveland's continued suffering. It's not just that Bengals fans are horrible people (we are, though; no contest), it's just a dramatic tale of betrayal and rivalry for the ages. But we're also horrible people, which can't be stressed enough.
Also, I do have to agree with Trump that excessive penalties are ruining the game. This should have been a shutout (which would have paired nicely with Ohio State's shutout win over Rutgers to make this a good weekend), but I do question a couple of the pass interference calls. I can let those slide, but an earlier overturned interception because of a roughing the passer call? No, sir! That was the most "beautiful" and by-the-book tackle imaginable and looked like it belonged in a training video.
See, I just agreed with Trump and I'm complaining that a 31-7 win over the saddest team in the league wasn't good enough because it didn't completely break the spirits of a downtrodden team that also is a complete embarrassment for a city that excels in other professional sports. I can offer no better proof that we are just the worst kind of people.

I'd get excited about the Eagles starting 3-1, but I've been here before. I know how this story usually ends.

It was a nail biter, but they did it and I'll take it.
OTOH, I am sad to read about Rutgers' shut out loss.
As far as POTUS' remarks, I prefer a POTUS who actually stands up for the law and our first amendment rights over one who prefers symbolism and a practice of standing for the anthem over the law of the land.

I present even more evidence that we Bengals fans are just awful people. At about the exact same time that one of Dalton's passes was intercepted by the Bills, Roethlisberger had a pass intercepted by by the Jaguars. Immediately following this, that Jags interception was broadcast on the screens in Paul Brown Stadium (Cincinnati's home stadium). According to the commentators, the crowd erupted in cheers at seeing Pittsburgh's misfortune at the hands of Jacksonville, of all teams. It didn't matter that we just made a whoopsie, because the Steelers' own whoopsie turned those frowns upside down.
The icing on the cake is that the Bengals actually beat the Bills today (20-16) and the Steelers lost to Jacksonville with a "what the hell happened to you guys" score of 30-9. It should be noted that the Jags are so bad that their host city is almost completely indifferent to their existence, giving the Jags a near-permanent slot in London, because no one was going to show up to watch them play anyway. I can forgive their British "Union Jacks" fans for not knowing any better.
It probably should be explained why this matters. See, the Bengals might be historic rivals with the Browns, but at this point we just kind of pity them. We're the closest geographical rivals with the Colts, but it's the type of rivalry that exists in paper and seemingly nowhere else. A person might like bragging rights over a coworker from Indiana or something, but nobody seems to really care about this alleged rivalry. It might be the friendliest rivalry ever. But the Steelers, that's a team Bengals fans just hate. The Steelers usually win; even when the games are close nail biters, some Pittsburgh wins. Often times, the Bengals just get pissed and turn into the Raiders of the 1980s: the only goal becomes hurting players on the opposing team at all costs, which accrues penalties galore and ultimately leads to the Bengals losing. There have been games in recent years in which Pittsburgh players have had to run off the field surrounded by sheriff deputies as debris rained down from the stands. Yeah, we petty.
After a bye week, the Bengals will play the Steelers next. I guess that glorious two-game winning streak had to end eventually.
