If someone were to tag me here, it would display as adminabp , which just looks like a link to my profile. I'd like tagging to look more like tagging on other social media on my forum, like @adminabp Is that possible?

I tried that in my CSS page, and wrapping it and putting it in my global header and global footer. Also tried it with !important. The same thing...each time...each way. It starts to show with the @ symbol while the page is loading, but by the time the page finishes, the @ is gone. Maybe Proboards software is fighting the change? Appreciate the help.

You got any plugins that are doing anything to the post content?

You got any plugins that are doing anything to the post content? Yep. Took some trial and error to track down the culprit. It's Wormopolis's ColorSmear plugin. support.proboards.com/thread/436528www.proboards.com/library/plugins/item/114Code works fine as long as that plugin is disabled. I'd stop using ColorSmear, but Wormo's plugin is the only thing I found that will color user display names in Todge's 'Recently Updated Threads Sidebar' plugin. Otherwise the names are all black. Hmm.

A link that showed the effects of the plugin as it is working would be useful to constructing an alternate solution if an alternate solution is possible since we don't know the structural changes being made by the plugin as well as the Wormopolis would. This is why it is very useful to post a forum link where the solution is intended to be implemented so that anyone constructing the solution has access to all the variables instead of having to assume a plain vanilla then waste precious time having to go back in and add a patch for chocolate

div.message a.user-link span::before, div.message a.user-link font:first-child::before {
content: "@"; }
Edit: See solution in next post to cover more types of children.

Edit: Peter quickest coder in Westeros
Try div.message a.user-link *:first-child:before {
content: "@"; }
to cover both vanilla and chocolate *note: the at symbol will inherit the color of the first letter so if you want a consistent color then add it to the css above

lol Chris adminabp, My solution only covers span and font. Use Chris' solution, you should then be covered by future plugins you might install that do any manipulation to the user links.
