Is it possible to code shadow/blur effects to text areas of the forum where it is unavailable in the visual editor. Specifically, I would like my board titles on the main page to have the same effect as the category titles.

You can use the text-shadow CSS property to accomplish this. For example, adding this to the bottom of Themes > Advanced Styles & CSS > Style Sheet will produce a black text shadow behind your board names: The first instance of 0px in the above example is the shadow's horizontal offset from its originating text. The higher the number, the farther to the right the shadow will be. A negative number will make the shadow appear on the left instead. The second 0px is its vertical offset. This works the same as the horizontal offset, except it affects whether the shadow goes up or down. The 4px is the radius of the shadow's blur. Specifying 0px will give the shadow no blur, while higher numbers will blur the shadow more and more. #000000 is the hex color you'd like the shadow to be (currently black).
