Forum URL: mho.freeforums.net/Hi there, I'm having a couple of strange issues on my Forum of late. 1. We are getting redirected to other sites, this happens without warning. It doesn't matter if you're writing a response, creating a thread or just reading a thread. 2. When using the "add image" app, something is adding a link to another site. This can be seen after the pictures have been uploaded, beneath the last pic we have the link. If the poster pays attention he can see the link before posting the pics and remove it. 3. When posting an answer to a thread, or creating a thread, (even whilst I am writing this) there is a warning saying the site isn't safe (in front of the URL at the top of the page). Despite scanning my PC with Norton and some freebie security stuff nothing has been found. So I reckon I can say my PC isn't the problem on this one. Here's a link to my Admin page where I posted this last evening: mho.freeforums.net/thread/765/strange-links-problems?page=1&scrollTo=19392You'll find pictures there also, don't worry they are snipping tool pics so the links they show are not active. Thanks up front for any help. Paul B

I can answer point 2,l think this is how the ibb is funded, if your members preview before posting they can delete it,or edit it to delete it after posting.
I don't think there is anyway to stop this happening ,as it is linking to another site,if you use this particular plug-in.

Thanks Elhombre, I had an idea that this could be the reason. Would it help if all the members that use the Image app, actually sign up to the IMGBB site?

I have done that personally ,then it is a matter of posting a code into the picture icon on the message bar.
The advantage of the plug-in is that it does all the work for you, with that slight drawback.
So it depends on what is easier for your members.
And just to say there are alternative sites for image posting.

paulb, For #1, if it's an ad that's causing the redirect, that ad will get reported to PB automatically. Ads can also be reported via the Report Ad found at the bottom of the forum. For #3, you'll most likely see that "Not secure" on any HTTP:// URL. That's just basically telling you that you're not on an HTTPS:// URL and that data is not secured. Rest assured, though, that PB's login / registration pages are done via HTTPS:// - so login credentials are secure. In other words, it's nothing to worry about (unless you've got member's posting personal information in an open board - which is a no-no anyways).

Thanks again Elhombre, I have signed in to the image place but I do use Flickr more than anything else. With that I have had no probs what-so-ever.
MSG, I am not sure if it is an ad causing redirection. Is there a way I can find that out?
As for the "not secure" thanks very much for that information. Is it okay if I quote your comment on my site?

Is it okay if I quote your comment on my site? Not sure if there's an actual way to find out, but usually redirects are typically caused by a bad ad (which PB does not allow, so it'll get removed). You can quote me on your forum, but you may want to see if a Red (PB Admin) has anything to comment about my comment - just in case I missed something, or if something is not quite correct. However, what I stated above is true to the best of my knowledge - but I'm just a regular member here, so it might be a good idea to get confirmation from a Red first. They'll be back in the office tomorrow at 9am Pacific Time.

It doesn't matter if you're writing a response, creating a thread or just reading a thread. Redirects are usually caused by a bad ad. These type of ads are not condoned by us and when a redirect is detected is alerts us automatically so we can investigate and block the offending ad. At a loss for this. Is it only this one member experiencing this or are there others? The "not secure" that you see is exactly as Lynx stated above. paulb

Hello chaps, I have had a question asked on my forum about the "add image" again. The bloke using "add image" is a registered member with imgbb.com, but he's getting no help from them. The problem is he keeps getting this message whilst uploading pictures: Anyone any idea what's causing this, or even how this error can be rectified? Cheers up front, Paul

paulb, if the user is receiving that error using the 'add image to post' button, unfortunately there is nothing we can do about this as it uses a service that is not ours. Sorry. You could try posting in the plugins support thread: link
