Not happy! Why was my account disabled? I'm now going to have to re-start my forums (months of work and posts lost!) and re-join the other forums I was a member of.

I want to vouch for Talira Greycrest being a real person. Her account was disabled on my forum. She has never once spammed my forum and has been a very loyal and kind member. Almost 1,000 genuine posts are missing from my forum. Account: bigballofyarn.proboards.com/user/1191If there is anything I can do to aid in the revival of her accounts, posts, and forums, please let me know.

I'd like to vouch for talgreycrest as well, as my experience on her Perfectly Prehistoric forum has been nothing but positive. It must be quite frustrating to see months of work disappear (the footprint in this cartoon says, Yikes!).

Once staff does see this thread, it will help them to know exactly what the error message is for that member. A screenshot or the exact verbiage will help them determine how or why the disabled account occurred.

As a note, also: sometimes internet providers recycle IPs or give you a dynamic IP. In these cases, it’s not uncommon for people to become accidentally banned because their IP has also been used by a spammer.
If you are confident that you haven’t participated in spamming behaviour, then there’s no need to panic or assume that you’ve been banned intentionally. Just let the PB admins know (as you have) and they’ll rectify it.
@ others, it’s so kind that y’all want to vouch for OP, but it’s really not necessary. A PB admin can examine the usual actions taken by someone on an account in the event of an accidental ban and restore access (:

I've set up a new account in case the old one can't be restored. Hopefully, the ban was accidental and my forums/posts can all be revived. If the old account can't be restored, I'll start again with a new forum.
My forums are still listed on the ProBoards directory but when I click on them, I get the following message: "In accordance with Section 25(a) of the ProBoards Terms of Service, this forum has been taken offline."

For the Section 25(a), you'll need to contact the Abuse Department at abuseteam@proboards.com in order to find out the why on that - as those are handled by the Abuse Department and not by the Support Team (the reds here on Support).

I contacted the abuse them and they requested my usernames and the URLs for all the forums involved. I haven't heard anything back from them yet, but I've noticed my forums aren't listed on the directory anymore. ProBoards is American-based, right? When should I expect a reply back from the abuse team and will the information I gave them help them restore my original account?

When should I expect a reply back from the abuse team and will the information I gave them help them restore my original account? The population of the directory is likely automatic to a degree, so if they’re gone the more likely scenario is that since the forums were removed, the listing has since been updated to exclude any forums (not just your own) that are no longer in service. Yes, PB is in the US, so currently -8 GMT/BST. The abuse team is online M-F barring US holidays, so they’ll be back at work in about six hours from this post (9am Pacific/5pm BST) til 5pm Pacific / 1am BST. The general wait time for initial contact is 48 hours (assuming that falls within the business week). Beyond that, however, there’s really no standard wait time to expect as everything is dependent on the investigation. That said, I would check in via email every few days unless told otherwise. I wouldn’t recommend emailing for a follow up more than once every 48 hours though. As far as whether or not the information you provided will help, that is unfortunately something that PB Support helpers and admins cannot weight in on — the abuse team is separate from the tech support team. All any of us can say is that the information you provided will help the abuse team investigate. Whether or not that outcome is favourable to you is dependent on the results of the investigation.

I assume then that I won't hear anything from them until tomorrow. The email they sent said they would review the matter, which (I'm hoping) won't take too long. I'll just have to wait and see what happens.

I'll just have to wait and see what happens. Like Kami said above, it might take at least 48 hours to get a response, or longer depending on how long it takes them to investigate your situation. It is also possible, unfortunately, that you won't hear from them again at all and they will take no action. Sorry to say that. But since they have responded to you at all, I think there is hope they will continue to communicate with you. This is all just my guess from what I've read from other members' interaction with the abuse team.
