Hello,
I am using a pre-made theme .pbt file and I'm still new to all of this stuff and learning how to edit everything. I'm decent at being able to read the CSS theme code and search through old posts on here to find codes for editing stuff but I haven't had any luck finding a code to edit the group name colors.
I know that you're able to edit the group colors under the "Member Groups" tab, I have done that but the pre-made theme overrides those changes so I'm assuming I need to enter a code in the theme CSS?
Can anyone tell me what code to use? I found one that looked something like this:
<div class="$[miniprofile_class]">
$[user]<br />
{if $[user.is_guest]}Guest<br />{/if}
{if $[user.is_deleted]}<em>Deleted Member</em><br />{/if}
{if $[user.group]}
{if $[user.group.name] == "Genie"}
<font color="#ff0000">$[user.group.name]</font><br />$[user.group.stars]<br />
{else}
$[user.group.name]<br />$[user.group.stars]<br />
{/if}
{/if}
{if $[user.rank]}
$[user.rank.name]<br />
{if $[user.rank.stars]}
$[user.rank.stars]<br />
{/if}
{/if}
and the red is where I would metaphorically enter the group name and desired color but it didn't work for me. I think it's incomplete and I also wasn't sure where to add it.
Thank you for any help that anyone has :-)

Hi ehren. Each theme can override the forum settings for color applied to the Display Name of members in groups (and stars). This can be useful in cases where the background color on each various theme is radically different. If you'd like those colors to follow the forum settings, you can make the change on the Group & Ranks tab of the Theme Settings. From your Admin panel, navigate: Admin Home> Themes> Theme Manager>, then click on the theme name, then click on the Group & Ranks tab. If you click the links shown in the image below, that will reset the theme to use the same colors and stars as the forum settings. OR you can specify each group's Display Name color (and stars) independently. You can do the same with the stars for member ranks.

You're like everywhere on here haha Thank you for responding. No, I actually want to do the opposite. The default settings are pretty but I want the staff members names to show up as bright red, green and yellow, opposed to everyone else's names which show up as white-blue through the theme settings.
When I change these colors under the "Group Member" tab, it doesn't show up on the actual board, though.

If there is a custom CSS rule overriding the standard way of applying group colors then it would be beneficial for you to post a forum url not only so we can see which rule is winning the CSS war but also determine how to counteract it. Setting the forum open to guest view and temporarily setting the skin in question to default so guests can see it would of course help your cause.
