I suggestion to create a plugin about colors of member ranks Admin may go to plugins > and edit member ranks there and how much posts he has to earns to have that rank I hope you'll create that one For the part of how many posts a member needs to earn a rank, is already part of the forum. Go to the following to set the amount of posts needed for each rank. Admin Home > Members > Member Ranks As to the part of having different colours for each rank, that will be difficult, (I feel) as each rank does not have it's own class. So to do what you want, you will have to pretty much rewrite the entire ranking system to add a class to each name. This will involve the use of a key to keep track of what rank each user has, which on a small forum may not be too bad, but on a large forum you may hit up against the data storage limit for keys. Peter, Lynx, Chris feel free to tell me I have it all wrong!

Nscalerr 🐺 my previous reply that I posted (now deleted) was wrong. When I read this thread, I got fixed on "the current user". So your reply is pretty much correct apart from the key. Sorry about that

Ok, so here is the deal with this type of plugin.
Option 1:
To do it with less work on your end, a user key would be needed to store the current rank for the member so that the colour can be applied forum wide. The problem with this solution is that the member would need to make a post after the plugin is installed so the key gets updated with their current rank.
I'll be honest, I don't want to do that, it's a little too much work just for a colour to be shown.
Option 2:
Here is the other option that will require more work on your end:
You will need to modify any user link that appears on the forum so the plugin can pull the rank data from the link. This is easier for me to do, and in fact I can write the plugin in about 5 mins. It will take longer to explain how to modify user links so the plugin can pickup the rank data.
Option 3:
You could do this all without a plugin as well, as CSS can be used to target each user link.
Option 1 is not going to happen by me.
If you pick option 2 (you don't have much choice here unless another coder steps in and takes option 1), then you will need to modify every user link so the plugin can pick them up. Like so:
So for mini profiles, you would changed $[user] to this:
<span class="user-rank-color" data-rank="$[user.rank.name]">$[user]</span>
Same applies to other areas of the forum (users online in board, online list, newest member etc etc).
