My grandmother was from Scotland, so any time we visited around the holiday season she made mincemeat tarts. I loved them. Never got around to trying to make them myself, but I'd like to at some point.
Now, my favorite dish during the holidays is green bean casserole with the crunchy fried onions on top. We made it for Thanksgiving and are going to make it again for Christmas. Also can't get enough of a perfectly cook beef roast. We prefer the eye round cut, crusted in cracked black pepper and roasted until medium. I'm at the table until I can't eat any more, then back after a little nap for more.

Cheesecake. Unfortunately, it seems like I'm going to have to learn to say no to it.

🍁🇨🇦 Tai Pan 🇨🇦🍁Can't say if I ever had yams. Is that the one where people put marshamallows on top? PearsonI don't like ham. I ate ham like twice in my life. I think ham has a weird smell to it. But I'm weird that way. Syko NachomanThat sounds really good right now. Great, now I'm suddenly craving crescent rolls with butter. gidgeteeI hope you mean the chocolates and not the real thing. Now this post is making my hungry. Genuine Dog KnifeOMG. No. I wouldn't say no to it. Why say no?

Sara Lee rolls. Even though they don't seem to make the regular kind anymore.

I miss my grandmother's Hungarian cookies and my mother's chocolate/peanut butter/coconut candy.
This year much like last year I am making a slow-cooked brisket with mushroom gravy. Mac, lobster, and cheese, Hawaiin rolls, and my sister will be bringing cheesy broccoli! A small meal (nothing Italian in there) but a satisfying one for us. (a very high cholesterol meal). For dessert, we will be having chocolate mousse and a traditional Sara Lee Yule log.

Pot roast in the slow cooker is another of my favorites for Christmas. We'll be having that, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes and gravy with rolls. It's only three of us, so there should be plenty of leftovers for the next day and that's usually better than the first time around.

A pot roast with mashed potatoes, green beans, and rolls/biscuits. I make roasts throughout winter, but it's vital on Christmas Eve or NYE.
My stepmom used to make sugar cookies and candies, like various flavors of fudge, seafoam, and caramels, but I haven't seen her do that in a few years.
Any type of pie, especially apple and pumpkin.
Honey-glazed ham! It's my favorite made into mini sandwiches with rolls and some Miracle Whip.

For Thanksgiving/Christmas it would have to be pumpkin pie. I never used to care much for it, but it’s become almost an obsession of mine in the last couple of years.
New Year’s Day is all about the pork chops and sauerkraut, in a slow cooker together for eight to twelve hours until the meat practically falls apart just from glancing in its general direction. Add mashed potatoes and buttered Hawaiian rolls, unbuckle, and dig in. Mmm. Now, where’d I put those leftovers?

Stuffing, I love my home make stuffing I made that originated from my mom, a wee bit biased there but, it's the only thing I look forward to at Thanksgiving and Christmas if I'm having turkey for both meals.
Speaking of turtles, we still have some mini turtles and not many people are buying many because well, they're a bit pricey so I grabbed a a few cups since those are my favourite chocolates of all time and I get a 25% discount so why not take advantage of it, I did share some some with my coworkers that were not the keto diet, they watched and drooled.
