I wanted to change the icons on my theme. But how can I find new icons that would not violate copyright if I used them? Also, how do you find an avatar that does not violate copyright? Do you have to buy everything, or are there any freely available images that don't have a watermark or something else across it? To be clear, I'm not trying to make any type of monetary profit. I was going to have my group meet here to discuss advocacy. I was just wondering if I can find some new images without violating copyright, and without having to buy them. I know that the images come with licenses, but I don't know a lot about it so I get confused.

There are websites out there that offer both free and paid versions of different icons, based on needs. For example this site ( www.iconarchive.com/tag/forum ), has icons that are both free to use, and available for purchase. You can sort them based on the size and category. If that site doesn't have what you want, you could request something to be made here on support, or on one of the various graphic forums hosted on ProBoards. You could also search in Google (or your favorite search engine) the term "Free Forum Icons". There should be plenty in the search that has people making them for free.

Thank you so much. :-) I can find free images, but it is unclear whether licenses. Just because I can find an image doesn't mean that I can use it. Maybe the icons I already have will be fine, but I at least wanted to see what else there is.

Thank you. I actually did not know that you could request a scene. I had a friend that said that she would help me with the banner and B. logo picture. I've already done the colors and the borders, so the only thing I would need to do from what I know is to change the icons if I want to. I have not Invited people yet because I'm still getting set up, but my form is for a special advocacy group that I am creating called blind ND. It is for people who are both blind and neurodivergent To work on advocacy initiatives specifically for our population. But it should still have good images because some people will be partially blind, since most blind people are not totally blind, and sighted allies will also join. I was trying to make it look exciting instead of blah and utilitarian, while still being high contrast. I was trying to make mine as easy to use as possible in case someone wants to come on who has a lot of trouble reading and writing, or if someone isn't very good at technology. Someone might have a slow Internet connection. I disable the newsfeed portion because having headlines flashing across the screen is not going to be very good for screen readers. I wanted to make it where in order for the screen to change, this is a very good job of alerting you, or user interaction is required. I was trying to make mine simple, uncluttered, and not very busy, but also very powerful at the same time like how the touchscreen interface on a lot of phones is simple yet powerful. I did find a plug-in that seems great where you can collapse and expand each category, but I didn't install it to my forum yet because I was reading in the support for it that if you have subcategories, it won't collapse those. I was thinking very simple, uncluttered, and only what you need is there, but if you do you need it and it isn't there, you can easily find it. Many social media websites these days are becoming busy, cluttered, and very difficult and that is not what we need. It would be so cool if this thing could interact with collaboration software like slack or an equivalent so that We can easily keep track of who's doing what. But the checklist plug-in is very handy.
