Most people remember the dreaded Death Star. Both iterations of the super-weapon remains to this day in the memories of all for it's destructive capabilities and over the years many different stories have been told that show the long term consequences of those who find themselves victims of such attacks. Perhaps the fear rests in knowing that there is a space station that is capable of destroying your home planet, but what most people seem to downplay is that there is another super-weapon that perhaps is even more terrifying.
This is Starkiller Base. Unlike it's predecessor, the Death Star, this weapon isn't mobile. It's entirely stationary due to being constructed on a planet as oppose to being it's own operating space station. It utilizes the power of stars where as the Death Star utilized kyber crystals. The Empire constructed their weapon to keep the planets in line, but one scary thing about Starkiller Base is that it was likely constructed to only be used once due to it's ability of destroying not just one planet, but several across parsecs. The First Order knew this was going to be the ultimate end to the New Republic knowing that one shot was all it needed to annihilated all central systems within the galactic body.
Where if you were to see the Death Star show up. You know there is a chance that they aren't giving you a shot at redeeming yourself and that your days are numbered in only a couple of minutes. Where as Starkiller Base is likely unseen by most worlds due to it's distance and due to it's destructive beam moving slowly. You can only watch it get closer and closer once it appears in your atmosphere. Like an asteroid heading to Earth with no plan of knocking it off course or all plans failing.
Starkiller Base is terrifying.
