Well, I'm back after a week in term change and the boards are starting to fill up again quickly like usual. But I thought I'd come back here and tell you about my next point. Point #12: Your forum is too large and I don't want to get lostThis does connect slightly to point #10, but not by much. One thing people notice is the thousands of posts in several of the boards and the hundreds of posts in others. (This is usually when term is a quarter to halfway through). Frankly, while it's a good sign of activity, it can be overwhelming. You ask, 'what happens to my role-plays?' 'How will I find them'? Well, at Trio's Hogwarts we have a process called term change. It occurs once every 3 months where I close most of the boards down and put a new set up for one week, while I archive all the other boards. So, when each term starts off, all the boards start fresh as life begins anew. The other nice thing we do is that we like threads that get over 2 weeks old. That way you won't have to worry about your threads getting lost in the haze. If you have a role-play that gets locked for the 2-week rule, you can PM me the link and I'll unlock it for you if you want to continue playing. But I doubt you'll need that as like I pointed out in point 10, there's plenty of people for you to play around with and you'll get your responses quickly. If you have a question you'd like for me to answer or a comment to be made about the site, please feel free to do so in this thread or even PM me. I'd be happy to address the issue for you. I like being able to tell people about Trio's Hogwarts as it's been my pet project for well over 3 and a half years now. Again, a reminder, I do have 1 sponsee slots available. My affiliate board (located under Impressions) has more information. (It's also guest friendly as is Impressions should you want to make comments there.) Oh, and advertising is only allowed in the site's Daily Prophet for members that use their galleons they get posting. So please don't just come around to advertise as I do remove it.

One of the things most HP sites have in common nowadays are that they're fairly new and just establishing themselves. This isn't necessarily a problem, but there are generally more hiccups as they learn what works and what doesn't. That brings me to my next point. Point #13: Trio's Hogwarts is 3 and a half years old.Trio's Hogwarts has evolved over the last 3 and half years. We've had the time to learn things that work and things that don't. We've also had the ability to trade things in and out. Terms run smoothly as much of the staff has been on the forum for more than 2 years. This kind of experience helps the staff handle all problems quickly and efficiently to provide for one of the best role-playing experiences around. If you have a question you'd like for me to answer or a comment to be made about the site, please feel free to do so in this thread or even PM me. I'd be happy to address the issue for you. I hate being sick, it makes you want to do a lot less than you normally can. Thankfully, I'm better now so I can get back to advertising Trio's Hogwarts. Perhaps I should tell you about the great community. Point #14: Trio's Hogwarts has one of the very best communities on the web. This connects to a lot of the other points I've made since the site would be nothing without its members. Most of the staff have been on the site for at least 2 years whether with a current character or with multiple others. Those that leave generally come back as the community creates a strong connection between members. But that doesn't mean that there's no room for others. The only way the community remains healthy and growth continues is by adding new members to the mix. Why else would the site have lasted as long as it has? Or for that matter, have been as successful as it has been? An admin, codes, and boards only go so far. It's the members that truly matter. If you have a question you'd like for me to answer or a comment to be made about the site, please feel free to do so in this thread or even PM me. I'd be happy to address the issue for you. Member communication is one of the essentials for a successful board. If the members can't communicate to the staff and vice-versa, the site doesn't run very well. What's worse is if staff and members become hostile to one another. So, I bring up my next point. Point #15: At Trio's Hogwarts, what members think is importantAs stated in point 14, sites can't really run without members. Which is why at Trio's Hogwarts, what members think is important. The impressions area of the site is always available for any suggestions they'd like to post or they can send a private message to me, the admin, at anytime. Many of our member suggestions have been put into effect while the ones not used are given an explanation instead of just a direct 'no'. In addition, I post many feedback threads throughout terms to find out what the members think, including a termly rating of how I do my job as admin. Also, any of the staff are ready to take any suggestions and pass them on as well. Staff are also encouraged to voice ideas to help Trio's Hogwarts continue to grow. Afterall, they were once just members too. If you have a question you'd like for me to answer or a comment to be made about the site, please feel free to do so in this thread or even PM me. I'd be happy to address the issue for you. I like being able to tell people about Trio's Hogwarts as it's been my pet project for well over 3 and a half years now. Lately, a lot of people have been looking around for active boards. Unfortunately, it's thought that large boards are either inactive or too large for anyone to role-play on especially since admins go inactive so often. Yes, more and more points will start to converge together, but there's always a new aspect. Point #16: At Trio's Hogwarts, getting started is really easyWe've got clearly marked boards on where to go with instructions on what to do. If that doesn't work, we've also got a link in the header box with walk-through instructions on how to get started. And if that's still not enough, any of the staff (and in a lot of cases, the members) can help give direction on how to get a character created and started. What's even better is that I'm on daily (only time I miss is when I get sick or something unexpected comes up) so that the starting process is very quick. It can range anywhere from 5 minutes to at most 2 days. Even better is boards available for role-play while waiting for an account to get finalized through bio and sorting processes. As a member for over two years now, I'd like to give some input on the site. I believe Trio's Hogwarts is an astounding accomplishment for Harry Potter RPG boards out there. I mean, it’s been over three years and it’s lasted this long? And it’s still popular and highly active, even if there has been a slight decrease because we are all so busy with our real lives. Trio’s is also a wonderful site because of all the people that make it that way. We all have our own personalities, and we establish these tight friendships with these people we roleplay with, and it doesn’t matter how far away they live or whatever. I’m a freshman in college and I still have the time to roleplay at Trio’s because it’s hard to let go of something you love. Trio’s isn’t just about roleplaying either, it’s about making memories and just letting go of reality a bit. Life is too serious nowadays, and sometimes escaping reality and stepping into this world where you have tons of new friends and people just like you, it’s just relieving.
Throughout the other sites I’ve made accounts on, I’d have to say Trio’s is honestly the best site I’ve ever joined. I have always been active, or at least tried to, and I always try to do my part and give an opinion on things. The site is about all of us at Trio’s, not just the harry potter books. It’s about the members all coming as one to make this site what it is, with Britt’s dedication of course. I mean without Britt, we’d have no site. She could have shut it down years ago, but she didn’t. And I really respect you for that.
I can’t really put everything I want to say here, but basically, if you want to really have that kind of experience with roleplaying and connecting with people of all ages, then join Trio’s. Be a part of something big and help us change things, or just be there watching everything unfold before your eyes.
I’ll probably add more to this or something, but right now this is what I wanted to say.
Xiomara Lang from Trio’s Hogwarts

FYI: Before you read this post ; arpeer = Role-player. [= arpees = Role-plays
So you've been looking at this thread for a little bit now. Or you decided you'd skip to the end 'cause you saw me and I'm that wonderful. [= Either way, I'm here for a reason. To convince you to join this wicked awesome site. <3
Trio's is one of the best roleplays I've been on. It lets n00b areers on and it lets advanced arpeers on. When I joined with my first charrie in December '06, I was the kind of arpeer that barely wrote more than a line for my arpees. Slowly, as I created more charries, I got better and better. Basically, what I'm trying to say is, you can learn at Trio's.
They won't be mean, if your a bad arpeer, they'll just be all nice and such and help. [=
Now, I hear a lot of people say, Britt is this, Britt is that. She is actually quite nice. I don't always agree with her, but you can give her advice, and she'll sometimes take it. If she doesn't want to take it, then she'll be nice and tell you why. Also, she has her rules for a reason. She is strict about them too. She doesn't make many expections. I think the only expection is, if you have done something before the rule is in place, she won't make you change it.
She is also very fair. If you think something is unfair, tell her. [=
Again, she isn't perfect, no one is, she will mess up from time to time, but it isn't a big deal, everyone does.
Also, Trio's may be big, but we are really just one big family. And it's really easy to become part of the family. Seriously I'm still considered a newbie, but they are all really nice to me. Everyone knows everyone it seems.
so, I'll leave you with this.
JOIN TRIO'S HOGWARTS. ~

Wow, Britt! Have you ever considered advertisement, because you definitely have a knack for it. I've been a member for ages and just reading all you said makes me want to join it. Well, it's gonna be hard to follow up with some of my own points but I think it's a great idea that I, as a member, give you another view of the site.
Okay, first of all, you came onto the advertisement board to check out any cool Proboards Forums that you may want join. I'm assuming you were looking at RP sites. And this one stood out because it said 600,000+ posts. And if you've read through this thread and have gotten to this post here, I would be extremely surprised that you are not already a member of the site. Honestly, if Britt or any of these other members have intrigued you in any sort of way, do not hesitate to just click the link, join the site. Heck, even give the site a try for a bit. I promise you that within a few days, your character will already have friends and a bright future ahead of them.
What could I say about Trio's that has not been already mentioned? It's really not that difficult because there are so many great things about Trio's that you'll never find anywhere else. The originality, the community, and the excellent level of role-play is unmatched by any other site. I will have been a member for three years this spring and if that is not a sign that this site is amazing, I don't know what is. With every single RP board, I joined, I ended up quitting because it could never match up to Trio's.
My favorite thing about Trio's is Mihael [and hopefully Britt can explain that in detail at some point]. I remember that at first, most new members would leave the site if they were sorted into Mihael because it was not one of the 'original' or 'canon' houses. However, as Trio's has evolved and has taken its own course [another brilliant point Britt had already mentioned], Mihael has become part of Trio's and is now brings about pride. Nowadays, if someone asks me which Harry Potter house I would be in, I say Mihael because that one fits my personality best. I ignore the raised eyebrows and proudly state "It's because of Trio's."
Trio's is a very important part of my life right now. Not only has it allowed me to make great friends but I have also improved my creative writing tremendously. I used to be terrible when it came to descriptive writing and through Trio's, I've learned to be able to add description and detail to the simplest concepts, such as walking into a room. If you look at where I started on Trio's as a 14 year old girl who just wanted to try out 'some Harry Potter forum' to a 17 year old aspiring novelist who is constantly trying to improve her skills as a writer, you would see how greatly Trio's has changed me.
No one is forcing you to stay if you do join. All I'm really asking is to just give this site a chance. We always welcome new members, don't you worry about that. We love more people to join our community for something that is both fun and relaxing. I dare you to just give Trio's a try for a week. I promise that you will come to enjoy it. And if not, no harm done. You're just missing a chance to be on what truly is the greatest HP RPG forum in this world.
