So you clicked this link for one of four reasons possibly:
1) You wanted to laugh at another HP site out there or roll your eyes at what kind of claims we'd make
2) You're truly looking for an RP site to satisfy your hunger for RP
3) It was an accident and you're already hitting that Back button.
4) You didn't believe that such a thing existed and you wanted to check.
Regardless, you're here so while you're here, I'm not going to badger you into joining my site. I'm not going to entice you by offering you a moderator or higher position. I'm not going to make fantastical claims with no back-up behind it. Instead, I'm just going to outline a few truths and what you do with it, is up to you.
You're still here, hmm? So, let's start with point #1: how is Trio's Hogwarts different from the million other sites out there?
Well, to start, Trio's is a bit rebellious in the fact that we don't follow canon of the books. Scared you a bit did I? The full truth is that we only follow the Harry Potter books through Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Why so arbitrary? Because we're older than the last 2 HP books. They weren't written at the time our plotline was developed and we decided not to cave into pressure and change our plotline just to suit the books. We figured we'd let others do that instead.
So, I haven't scared you off yet then? Probably got those die-hard HP fans that want to crucify me for being contrary to the books. Let's continue on then shall we to point #2. What does Trio's Hogwarts have to offer me?
We offer you the opportunity to envelope yourself in a totally new world. Sounds corny, hmm? Trio's Hogwarts is primarily composed of the Hogwarts school under circumstances only found at Trio's Hogwarts. Our version of the war, it's ending, what happened to Hogwarts, etc... Our own way of teaching, etc... However, we've also got an entire section for those that want to be adult characters. With our own version of the Ministry of Magic (disguised as a muggle bank called Gringotts), St. Mungo's (a muggle health clinic) and areas from real places in London for people to role-play anywhere in the UK. I doubt you'll find anything like it on other HP sites.
Ah, still here then? You're either very interested or I've just entertained you really well thus far. Or perhaps you're watching to see if I'll say something stupid that you can laugh at. Either way, I'll take advantage and tell you about point #3: How can I prove these claims?
So, first, we'll start with an old screenshot taken a couple weeks ago to prove that Trio's Hogwarts really is above 600,000 posts. You can even check and you won't find any kind of inflating codes or anything. We also encourage you to check our latest posts as you'll probably find that our average posts are between 1 to 2 paragraphs long. I don't believe in requiring a minimum outside of more than one line because I realize that everyone has to start somewhere and a site is more productive when it works to help everyone improve rather than just keeping the status quo. Since we have people of all talent levels, no one is really bothered.
I can also provide a few testimonials from people that are members and even those that are not. So, let's start with someone that's never been a member of Trio's Hogwarts:
I think Trio's is the forum and role play that every Harry Potter forum and role play creator, strive and desire to be. Myself included.
It's got the great looks, so original and not sugar-coated as some forums try to be. It's real and it's magical. Trio's took the idea JKR created and made it their own: their own world, their own characters and their own plots. It definitely has the successful look, but looking great isn't always as important as being great, as Trio's is both.
Britt puts a lot of work into the place, as her other staff members do, and I must admit she has the artists "never satisified" syndrome. As much as you think this is bad, it isn't: it shows you just how much this girl strives to make the community it's best; Just. For. YOU.
Even though her plot is anti-ship or not "jumping on the band-wagon" it definitely sets the standards. Who really wants to do what the million+ other forums are doing? Ron and Hermione: who doesn't see that plot coming from a mile away? JKR set it in stone, but whose to say that stone should be read... and followed? Trio's doesn't and who in this lifetime, wants to follow what "everyone else" thinks? Our world is about expressing yourself and not caring if everyone else doesn't agree: Trio's does just that. It accepts your crazed characters and ship-ideas.
There are so many things I have yet to learn and find on Trio's that is baffles me that Britt and her staff came up with them all. I mean, it's like Hogwarts Castle but a forum! Unknown boards, special boards that set to theme, inspiring professors, weird-off-the-wall students... It even helps those who aren't the best writers, become so through development. I wish I'd had that four years ago.
Trio's is three years old+ probably the oldest Harry Potter RPG site around, so can you really doubt that Brit knows her stuff? She knows all the tricks-of-the-trade and can float your boat in whichever direction you desire.
... Plus, you've got to love the Trio's adult models. They are absolutely gorgeous.
And now from someone that's been a member for a while:
Anyways, as a member, I'd just like to say something about the character development.
Many times I've seen people create accounts out of boredom and have tons of new characters. By the time a few months passed by, the only ones that lasted were those that had already started off with a well developed character. However, with the new system of having to have a bio before having an accepted character, the rate of developed characters has increased greatly. A lot of people are thinking about their character's personality and history more from the start.
When I first joined, 2 1/2 years ago, my character had no development at all. I figured, she was like me. However, as the years have gone on and I've developed her, I've created a different character. Had I had the character development enforcement that the site has now, perhaps I would have figured out more about my character's personality and history from the beginning.
So, if you are new to role-playing or advanced, you can take well advantage of the character development area, something that makes Trio's stand out among other sites.
Click the link. You know you want to...
