My apologies goodkel - I forgot to mention that this code should go at the bottom of your style sheet instead of the top. In general, when you're given CSS, you'll want to stick it towards the bottom to avoid the change that another declaration might override it. It worked! Of course. Are you kidding me? Apologizing for assuming I had a lick of common sense? I have been so stressed about putting everything into a recognizable order for my members and fielding their complaints, I haven't relaxed my mind enough to just think. I always used to place new code at the bottom. I should have known to do that here. My fault, really, not yours. Thank you SO very much for all of your kind and patient support! Kelly

Hi Kelly, I don't know where you got that info from, but you can add your own meta tags to the forum if you wish. Visit your admin panel then navigate to Themes > Layout Templates, then click on the Forum Wrapper template. On the next page place your meta tags within the <head> section of the HTML In regards to the custom domain, that just affects how users visit your forum. Doesn't make any other changes to the forum itself. The guy who told me that is a co-author of The Internet for Dummies. He seems to like to hear himself speak and I take his advice with a grain of salt. I doubt he did any research into Proboards before he wrote that. Which is why I brought this subject to you guys. Will my existing members still be able to access the board with the old link? Thanks for your help! Kelly

Hey goodkel. 1. You can add this to your style sheet to make the text a bit smaller. It should bring all the buttons on to one line. #navigation-menu > ul li a { font: 13px "Trebuchet MS",Verdana,Arial; }
2. In Admin > Settings > Forum Settings > Navigation tab, you don't have any destination URLs set for those buttons. Add " /threads/recent" and " /posts/recent" to the "URL" fields respectively. Navigation works! Links are active! I made the mistake of putting the full url in there and that's why it didn't take. Not so lucky with the size issue. Still the same. Attached is a screen print of the Style Sheet:

Forum URL: weightlosssurgery.proboards.comMy main goal is to increase our ranking on search engines. The best I have found is page four on Google under a specific search term. As everyone knows, most people don't venture beyond the second page, if that. I want my board on page 1. A knowledgeable acquaintance told me this: "The biggest issue holding down the ranking of your forum is the LACK of ability to use meta tags which Google/SEO relies on. That is because proboards overrides your forum. They use THEIR meta tags, and nothing that an admin can do on a proboards forum is ever going to change or overcome that insurmountable fact. It is ALWAYS going to limit how high the board’s ranking can go on Google." Because of the .proboards in our url, we are just a subdomain. I don't mind if active members never see the custom domain. My target is only the search bots. Will the custom domain allow my forum to have meta tags? If not, does the custom domain provide any other benefit towards my goal of a first page return on Google? Thank you for your help! Kelly

Legend is gone. YAY! Two problems with the buttons: 1. Size Can we make all of them slightly smaller, just enough to fit on one line under the banner. See screenshot of how they look now. 2. They don't work. Clicking on them just refreshes the home page

How about putting the "Recent Posts" and "Recent Threads" in the Info Center in bold?

When you are posting or writing a PM, this is the font. Screenshot attached. If you go to: Admin > Themes> Advanced Styles & CSS> Visual Editor And go down to the "Editor" and select "BBCode Editor" or "Visual Editor" and you can change the font family there. Your attachment picture is of the legend on/off icons. They aren't clickable. But below that I see Recent Posts and it works fine for me. Am I misunderstanding? Thanks, font problem solved! How do I remove that unclickable legend? It wasn't on my V4 theme.
People are missing new posts/topics buttons of some sort: Is there a way that I'm missing to just view the new posts like before?~~brooklyngirl My exact question~~CVHarris I too used the "New Posts" button almost exclusively~~whit I liked the "New Posts" button. Is that gone for good?~~xr7conv Is there no longer a 'new topics' option? I liked that one.~~msbatt I'm missing that also. I used it every time I came to the website to find all the new stuff from the entire site. Any hope if bringing it back?~~Larra Yeah, I need the "New Topics" button also. That's the main one I use.~~sheanie What amazes me is all these people clamoring for a function I never used. My go to was the most recent posts, which I had increased to 20, in the Information Center. Can I get "New Posts" and a "New Topics" buttons?(perhaps too much info posted here. I have put in bold the basic questions) Thank you for all your help! Kelly Read more: weightlosssurgery.proboards.com/thread/8305/post-problems#ixzz2pRajuoPL

That looks like Arial to me: This is what Arial looks like, and bold. This is what Courier looks like, and bold.

Hi DanBlue, Visit your admin panel then navigate to Structure > Headers & Footers. On the next page click on the "Community Ideas" board listed there to access the headers and footers for that board. On the next page in the header you'll see you have a <center> tag, but this isn't closed. At the end of the code, put in a closing </center> tag and that should take care of it Hello! I am having the same problem. When I went to Headers & Footers, the only ones I have are all pre-upgrade. weightlosssurgery.proboards.com/admin/structure/headersWhat should I do? The center justification makes the board difficult to read. Thank you for your help! Kelly

I couldn't tell you how, but I kept futzing around with it, found the export area and downloaded a fresh copy. Uploaded that and it worked! I am so grateful for the assistance I have received. Thank you all SO much!

Thanks for providing that, goodkel. I'm having the same trouble importing it that you did. Just to be sure, are you trying to export the theme labeled "Default" from your test forum? You mentioned managing to export it with "some difficulty" - can you expand on that for me? I didn't "export" it. I pressed control then clicked to save the file. Then I saved it with the .pbt extension. Yes it is the default theme on the test forum.

Forum URL: weightlosssurgery.proboards.com/This is the working board that I just updated to V5. I need to transfer/upload the theme from my V5 test board: wlstest2.proboards.com/I tried to copy it, no go. With some difficulty I saved it to my hard drive as a .pbt file. When I attempted to upload it, I receive this error message: Error Theme contains invalid data. Unable to decode theme data. What do I do now? Thank you for your help! Kelly
