Good evening Isaac!
Good to see a community forum going up and it seems like you've gotten familiar with the headers and such already which is good. Hopefully this doesn't upset you but I'd prefer not to give a numerical rating to the forum as of yet.
The design is one I've seen used before for a few test websites. It's very nice, but does it fit the theme of your forum? It's professional looking, has great transition to black where the bulk of your forum needs to be noticeable and easily read, but I think Sci-Fi [specifically Star-Trek ] when I see the background and that isn't what your forum is about.
Second thing. Perhaps you may want to consider rearranging the layout of your boards. Sub-boards will be your friend with this kind of forum and you may even want to consider Chris' code for sub-sub-boards in the Code Database. Keep all your general information together in one section of your board, probably the top as it is now. Then when it comes to talking about games instead of having a few mainstream and popular games as categories on the main page and then having the more general categories underneath you should adopt a more logically structured layout. Think 'General -> Specific', as all writing professors and teachers like to remind us about constantly.
Could go something [and this is purely a suggestion] like:
.
.
.
PC (Contains all talk of general PC related topics)
- Runescape (as a sub-board)
- LoL ( " )
- ... etc.
Console (Contains all talk of general consoles such as Xbox (360), PS(1, 2, 3), etc...): Use this board for your Xbox vs. PS discussions instead of another board
- Halo
- Halo 1
- Halo 2
- etc...
- CoD
- ...etc.
Basically my thoughts revolve around shrinking the size of your main forum into a more organized folder system. Might as well utilize the tools! But it's totally up to you, don't want to go crazy with the sub-boards either.
