I remember the very first time I posted a message on a message board. It was over 15 years ago! I posted a message and waited...and waited... I was depressed that no one had answered my message. Since then, I have learned many lessons to posting. Here are some of them:

1. If you post just a statement, others might not reply. Instead, end your message with a question, inviting others to submit their opinions.

2. Read and re-read your message before sending it. Could it be interpreted in two different ways? Sometimes saying it out loud if you're not sure can really help. (I know, it only feels silly the first few times) Remember, the reader can't see the smile on your face or the frown, so your words need to explain the emotion you are trying to show.

3. Don't rely on icons to express your emotions, either. Some people turn off their graphics while surfing to speed up their connections.

4. Turn off the Caps Lock key. Typing in all caps is hard to read and can make it seem as if you are shouting.

5. Don't post only when something bad happens to you. This will turn members away quickly. We're all here for you if you have a bad day, but we'd like to see the happier side of you, too.

6. Try to stay within the topic of the board. A joke once in a while is fine, but if you find that's all you're posting, perhaps there is a board that would better suit your needs.

7. Do you respond to other messages by telling something about yourself? We all do this once in a while. However, if everytime you reply to a message, you only talk about yourself, people may start to skip over your replies. This is especially true about tragedies or triumphs. When something bad or good has happened to someone, they want our emotional attention. They really don't want to hear a story from you that can top their story. Remember, it's not always about YOU.

8. Do not post one word replies. If you have an answer or a statement, give the reason behind it. If you state an opinion, explain why you feel that way.

One word replies like "yes", "no", "maybe" and the all famous "I voted for..." are cosnidered spam by most, and will get your post ignored.

well, danka shoon. I been having a bad time here. As a matter of fact, I have been going away from PB for up to 6 months at a time and everyone usually is the same, plus more idiots.

I don't think it's at all fair of you to be blaming everyone else here at PB for your problems.

This is not the first time I've seen a post in this style from you, and I remember you "leaving" Proboards several times before. Every time it's been the same "Proboards gives me a bad time" or "The people here are stupid/stubborn/idiots" or "Nobody reads my posts". Now, in this thread, you've had a whole load of advice, sympathy, and helpful comments in this thread so far, and yet all you did in response was to turn round and criticise people.

In my experience the majority of regulars here are friendly and willing to chat to anyone else; and almost all threads posted in GT get replied to, regardless of who started them.

Why is it that (as you claimed in your first post in this thread) the people that make comments to you are "the out of line people here", yet it's ok for you to make posts labelling people as "stubborn" or "idiots"?

If ProBoards really causes you that much of a problem then it may be that it's time you asked yourself why you really keep coming back here. I never have understood why people come to GT to complain about GT as a whole - surely if it's that bad for you here it would be better just to not keep coming back? You said youself you've not been here in a while anyway, and I know it wouldn't be the first time you've "left" PB if you deleted your account. So what really brings you back here?

Man there are tonds of stubbern people here at PB. Whenever I make a comment, or if I make something that is interesting to talk about. People are always backstabbing me or anyone in the thread after I make it! Even when I am trying to just making a poll about something, people WON'T add to it or even look at it. It just gets me aggravated!

Yeah, I sometimes get off bat and get mad, but its just because the people that makes comments to get me mad are the real out of line people here. It just not makes my day when people does not pay attention to me or when they make rude comments and how thats going to make me react! For once I would like people here to know that I am not a nut case, I am just someone that just wants attention and that I am not as bad as I really am. Even if I show that I am really bad. </rant>

SO, do anyone else want to do a rant about this place or whatever
