I am steamed at the RIAA. Someone bought the music and they should be able to do with it what they want.

OK, so you create something that costs you money, i buy the product, copy it, and sell it, you lose money. how would you feel, i bet you'd want to sell the next product for more. same with music, artists and record companies charge more, you won't want to buy it.

Hmm, 6000 songs in my Winamp playlist.
Nope, I'm not complaining about file sharing at all. ;D

Downloading is not illegal, but providing lisenced material to others, especially at monetary benefit, is.

My friends have pirated software as well as thousands of dollars worth of music.
They've never been arrested for it.

My friends own copies PhotoShop CS, Paint Shop Pro's 8 & 9, Cinema 4D, Illustrator, Macromedia Studio MX 2004, and alot of DJ/Audio softwares.
But I have a question. If these things are illegal why do warez sites have them for download?
Wouldn't you think the government or companies would shut them down in a heart beat?

I personally don't download anything from P2Ps or anything else, but I think the main reason music is 'shared' like this is because most teens don't have the resources to buy their music (can't get a job or parents dont give money for CDs etc) so they just get it from other sources, like P2P programs. Anyway, there's no way the RIAA can fully stop the 'sharing', but I doubt they'll stop trying to.
You can all thank me now for stating the obvious. =P

If these things are illegal why do warez sites have them for download? Wouldn't you think the government or companies would shut them down in a heart beat? I have over 4 GB of software setups for all of those software plus everything else that's premium.
But I don't go around distributing them.
