XHTML is the latest specification of the markup language by the W3C. Apparently it enables more people to access your website if you do use it. I personally do use it, however do you? and can you prove it by giving a link to your website?
I personally use XHTML 1.1, with Css, however I still have to validate that, so yeah.

Depending on what I'm doing I'll either use XHTML 1.0 Transitional or XHTML 1.1. For layout simple layouts and such I use div's and CSS. For more complex things I still use tables. The website link in my profile goes to and older xhtml/css/table layout. This still uses tabes but is slightly better: theccworld.com/pic/

I often try to. My site is XHTML 1.1. I try to avoid tables as much as possible.
However, if I'm just churning out a quick page, I don't care. Often the content of the page is more important than the way it's stored on the page.

maxd1989 just said he did Paintball used the word usually The CCWorld said he only sometimes uses it hey said he uses a mix Maxd1989, depending on what he meant by his post, may be an exception. Paintball, what he mentioned has no correlation to whether he abides by XHTML or not. He simple stated he occasionally uses tables. Using tables is not against XHTML. CCWorld is the same. He said he sometimes uses tables too, but that's not against XHTML. Hey, well, he's the same as above. So you see, Conq, most people do not use their own twisted version of XHTML. Fact of the matter is, if you do, then you're simply not using XHTML.

I use XHTML Strict now, with no tables for design. I still use Tables for Tabular Data, thats what they are there for!

because <br /> is only for xhtml, and xhtml doesnt support the font tag. I know. That's why I use <span class=whatever>.
