Does anyone know any good programs that are out there for programming, and ones that are easy to learn? Most programming languages don't require any special software. But, there does exist software that makes writing the languages a little easier, and makes your job easier as a whole. - Click Me -This subject has been brought up many times before. |

notepad.... all windows has it... go to
For ME edition and lower START>Program Files>Accessories>Notepad
For XP edition and higher START>All Programs>Accessories>Notepad
Then when you save the file save it including the file type with " and "... for example saving an HTML file called hello, you would save it as "hello.html" and so on... you need the " and " otherwise in some versions depending on what you have enabled it wont let you save it as a certain file tyope.....

Quanta is a good tool, I have a whole bunch of text editors which highlights stuff, It doesn't really help - maybe the odd missing } and it will help you track it down, but other than they're not much of a helper.

Notepad - some basic and on your system Notepad2 - something basic and better than notepad HTML-Kit - something basic and lets you have a browser open in it to see what you are doing while you do it Dreamweaver MX 2004 - something that is very over rated, but colours text so you don't mack mistakes, has endless menus of commands and is perfect for building a massive site Personally, if you just want something to do basic stuff, then Notepad, but if you want to learn stuff HTML-Kit because if your leaarning you wont to be able to see your mistakes quickly, also it brings up menu's if youi forget somethings like if your write <a href"asbdj"></s>, then it says you have fogotten the = and also you ahve put S instead of A. Finally Dreamweaver, is the best if you are serious about making a good site, because with EasyPHP as well, you can have everything of HTML-Kit, plus you set the settings to the easyphp file, then run easyphp and you can make site, PHP enabled very very very quickly! |

Wordpad sucks because it saves formatting.
You don't want formatting in your code.
Textpad, Notepad, Notepad2, and pico are all great.
