When configuring something to your server or domain,and they ask domain name. is that the shared ip address of your server, or is it the one you log in from ?

A domain name is the name you enter to access the site (proboards.com or google.com). If you don't have one you can generally use the IP address of the server.

so if i have a domain name i dont have to have the ip address, i am trying to configure a local configure file to work on my server, and what is game path ?

Yes, you need an IP address. CCWorld is saying if you do not have a domain name, you can access the site by the server's IP address [Usually]
