Skin based Headers/Footers

Is there any way to make my headers and footers skin based? I'd like to have them act differently dependant on which one that the user has active. Is there some way I may identify the current skin using javascript?

There's a very easy way of determining your current skin. Go View Source and see this line near the top:
        var pb_skinid = 2;

That identifies the current skin so you can use if(pb_skinid=="1"){ to execute something only on the default skin
