hello, i read the rules you have posted, but this is not the case i found, most mods are friends and will take sides against people. they are either family members and reading them on lots of dirrerent places they just pick on people they feel are either becoming too popular or in fear. i dont think pro boards realise that the people starting forums , sometimes do just to invite people to abuse online and bully. I guess I have never seen that. Of course, it might be the type of forum and such too. If people are brought into bully, that is not Proboards fault. It is the responsibility of the admin. It sucks that it happens, but it is not the fault of Proboards.

If it is owners and admin , call them what you like, if it is them constantly abusing people to the stage where they leave.

As long as they are not breaking the rules set up in the TOS, Proboards itself is not responsible. If admins want to bring in people to bully members until they leave, that is their choice. It just shows that they are not ready to run a forum of their own.

I am not sure it will do any good since it is their forum and they are allowed to enlist who they want and act how they want...as long as they are compliant with US law. Your best bet might be to go to a different forum of a similar nature and not experience that at all.

If someone is getting bullied, does this not classify under hate as stated in the Proboards' Terms of Service? However, even if it does not actually classify under that... There is another section where it could apply... Section 3A... And doesn't the US civil rights act (Title 18, Part 1, chapter 13, §241) say that : SourceSo would this not be a conspiracy to deprive someone of a priviledge granted to them by the US law? The first amendment right of freedom of speech... As well as the Civil Rights Act of 1964Which guarantees that all persons shall be able to make use of any public service (Such as Proboards...) That being said, I am not an expert on US law... I can only offer a breif argument. Anyone with a Law degree would be better equipped to answer this question than I would.

It might be worth it, but it would still have to go through the TOS violation section. I am not sure it counts since it is a public domain, yes, but since it is like a business where you can refuse service to anyone for any reason. The person to ask would be Patrick Clinger, the owner of Proboards.
Either way, I agree that a Do Not is to make sure you are not isolating members by being stupid and making them feel stupid. However, it is their call if they want their forum to fail. The member CAN choose to leave and go elsewhere...letting them keep their freedoms.

What do you do when it's your members who are breaking that first rule, rather than yourself? I've had new or quieter members complaining about feeling left out. When no one has a chance to talk to them too because they don't ... talk themselves.

When no one has a chance to talk to them too because they don't ... talk themselves. If the members don't talk and make themselves active, it is their own fault. I do think the staff has a responsibility though if they notice a member who is on who seems to be quiet or get steam-rolled. They can PM them and get them noticed by different ways. If they feel comfortable with people behind the scenes, then they might branch out and PM others. I think a staff responsibility should be member interaction. Too many do not.

I baned a member to usinin' too many curse work. I hate curse alot. Hi, Welcome to D:YP. Please remember your posts should be at least 4 sentences long. Anything less shows that not enough thought was taken in the post, and is most likely not productive towards the conversation.

I think the worst case of favortism pops up when you make a forum with your friends.
It's just so hard to pin a friend down on rules, and when you do, you end up being lighter on them then on another member who did worse.
'Specially when the friends are the main staff in charge. Members just start thinking, "Hey, we don't like this, but what can we do? Talk back to one and you get the rest on your back."
Laying a couple ground rules before you even give birth to your forum is a must, or else you get a couple of staff abusing their powers because they know the others won't burn them.

Rule Crazy:
I think its a very bad idea for admins to create unrealistic amount of rules for their members to read and then have to find a stinking special word to add to their profile. Role playing is a fun past time and shouldn't have the fun sucked out be too many rules.
Being rude to your members is one thing but equally i think members must respect their admins decission ive had a lot of problems with members that can't accept the fact that they are breaking the bad rules that can get them banned and can't see that their in their wrong for it -.-
