making a pm bar

I am really interesting in coding for proboards, so the forst thing i want to do is learn to make a PM bar (which seems to be the easiest) but i dont know where to begin with it =/

Lol, you would first need to make a table(<table><tr><td>Table Here</td></tr></table>)

And then you would add some links in there.. (<a href='/index.cgi?action=pm'>Inbox</a>)

And lastly, you would want to look over other's codes for how to do the RegExp for how many pms and to use are or is.

PM bar isn't the easiest, since it requires RegEx. Anything that requires RegEx is gonna be a pain. If you're just starting, try something without RegEx, like a forum width modifier or logout verifier.

Although I shouldn't say it requires RegEx, as I went years without using RegEx to do such tasks [since I didn't know RegEx], but my code was ten times longer, so I wouldn't recommend that option.

You can have a table that just has links like what I posted above.. and once you get RegExp(Regular Expressions), you can try a more advanced table.
