Been obsessed with smilies...

so I've been making tons of smilies over the past few days, what should I add or do to make it better?

I assume they'll be resized down.

Transparent background would be good for one, maybe make it 3D with a bit of burn/dodge on the yellow?

Maybe make the head look round. I use tranparency layers to get the affect of round-ness but you can actually add shine in a number of different ways. (I don't use Photoshop but rather Xara Extreme so probably can't give you hints if you don't use Xara.)

Are they going to stay that big because I've found what looks good big doesn't necessarily look so great smaller, not that the one you posted is one of them.

Just my 2 cents worth.
