If you don't know what I'm talking about please don't reply, because I'm looking for someone who knows the answer.
I'm running on Mac, and I've got MAMP running, it's all set up and working, but I've got a problem when it comes to using .htaccess. I've used something to show hidden files on my Mac as it won't let me use a '.' in a file name as they are for system files.
Although when I add the htaccess file it keeps on giving me a internal server error and I just don't know why. I know for a fact it's something to do with MAMP itself, I've asked on the support forums but no replies yet so I was wondering if someone on here knew what the problem was.
I know the contents of my htaccess file are correct but I've searched and searched but I don't know. I decided to post this here because it's something to do with htaccess =P
Please don't reply unless you know what I'm on about =]

Does it run properly if the .htaccess file is clear/empty? Just curious. (I use XAMPP for Windows and encountered a similar problem.)

Are you trying to use mod_rewrite? Try looking in httpd.conf to check if its enabled or not.
You'll be lucky to get any help at all with that attitude.

I got it working i accidentally removed some of the httpd.conf without realising, so I got that back.
I wasn't being harsh Simie =P I just didn't want people going off topic in this thread if they didn't know what I was on about =]
