Just a really simple question about my board

I'm running a very simple board but whenever I write topics for my board, often I need to put tabular information into a topic. Now I'm a pretty good HTML, DHTML guy and I literally wrote the book on JScript (worked for Microsoft for 15 years) but for the life of me I cannot figure out what it takes to create tables using the Post Message dialog box I 'm using to create this message which is apparently the only medium I have available to create topics for my board.

All I want to do is create a few simple tables. I know about using square brackets and regular HTML notation but that seems to be very limited and beyond that, I know of nothing else. Any pointers, clues, or obvious oversights that can be pointed out to me would be greatly appreciated. I'm very frustrated here.

The only UBBC options for tables are rows and column cells, all of whih have to go inside the table tags. Basically you create a row, the put cells in it and type whatever in those cells:

OK, this is what I already had. I guess he next part of my question is, is ther ANY way besides using non-breaking spaces to actually line things up within any given cell. It is so incredibly frustratrating to have a column of text, or numbers, or anything that you just cannot align properly. Surely there must be a trick to that

^ Perhaps this code will help make things easier. I've used it on quite a few sites and it works beautifully.
