Problem with Image

I have a problem.

When using PHP to generate the image, it comes up like this

lawl.sixserve.com/pbs/avatar.png/index2.php

Whereas the actual image is lawl.sixserve.com/pbs/avatar.png/icontexto-webdev-security-048x048.png

See the difference in quality? It's accessing the same image, but when used with the PHP thing, it gives up a dirty black background with the image.

No transparencies.

What's up with that?

Actually for the PHP image, I just get a box with an x in the middle.

Source would be useful - I've worked with alpha transparencies in pngs with php before no problem, so it's difficult to say where the issue would be without seeing the code.
