Unique rpg skin... does it work?

I'm an admin of an RPG and I was wondering if you guys liked how I have a non-stereotypical RPG skin.

What do you guys think? Should I stick with it, or try one that is more like the others?

Also, I created the header bar. (ie: the one with home/login/etc in it) Does that look good, or should I change it in some manner?

I like that you are a little different from the others. Not a fan of copy-cat forums. I really like how you did the images in your boards. You menu bar looks nice and simple, easy to read. I don't think the menu needs any tweaks.

I do have a pet peeve that there is nothing telling me the role-play boards are click-able, like in the text changes when hovered over. Makes me think my computer froze. But that is just me.

It is also a little flat for my taste. The gray on gray on gray is a bit too much gray. Maybe a very, very subtle textured background with flecks of purple/green but barely noticeable?

Over-all. I like what you did. There is some imagination and uniqueness there which is a rare, rare thing these days with RP.

In addition to the comment above, I'd maybe get rid of that pixelated text on the head image and make it something like Arial Black. Just because that font type doesn't look good above 10pt. Also, you might get rid of the Google search bar. (General Settings > Google Search: No)

Overall, it looks really nice; a lot like my first template in terms of layout. The images next to the board names were clever. Good work. (:

Tumbleweed - Thanks for your critique! I am currently working on a new skin and I will be sure to make it not all gray. I'm unsure about textures, but it may include a pattern in the background. Thanks for your compliments :]

elli - In the future I'll make sure not to use the font so big, you're not the first to point out my error. Thanks for the tip about the google bar, I removed it. Thanks so much :]
