So my board is simply gone into the ether and no one is going to tell me why? Is that fair? I can't see why my board would have been deleted by Proboards. I looked at the rules and I don't believe I was in violation of any of them. I worked really hard on the forum and used it as a means of communication with a growing number of people. I had a pretty cool community going on. I don't understand how this could happen without any warning at all.

The TOS dept is totally seperate from anything here in proboards support.....if a forum is deleted for TOS violations all they do is leave a note in that forums account stating it was deleted for a violation but they don't tell us what it was.....we have no way we can give you any further information. If the TOS violation was committed by a staff member you receive no warning. Be sure to read through the TOS again to see what it might have been. The most commons reasons are having members under 13 years old or having something in non english on the forum.

But how would I know if someone is under 13 yrs of age? when they register they can easily lie can't they? Besides which Porboards hosts like a bazillion forums don't they? How was mine of all the forums hosted picked out for deletion. It doesn't make sense. And as far as I know no one was under 13 yrs of age. and what about forum members from around the world or even here in the U.S. who speak many languages....if they write a greeting in their native language that would be grounds for deleting an entire board? I'm pretty broken up about this because that board was very intergral to an artweb project I am working on and now it and all of the information pertaining to the website is gone. I think this is horribly unfair especially not to get a warning first. I've re-read the TOS info and I still don't see how I was in violation.

Either way there is nothing else we can tell you abiout this because the TOS dept does not tell anyone.

Couldn't the "TOS Department" leave the number of the violation? Would it be that much harder? Another two characters in the note box?
"Deleted TOS 3c" for example?
Might want to bring that up at the next staff meeting, maybe?

Well what difference would it make?
You have seen by the threads where it was obvious why it was deleted (non english) the users still complain even after they know, all posting the reasons will do is give people more reason to try and moan and complain (on average) it was tried for a while and resulted in far more problem

If i am allowed to voice my opinion on this matter, i know that if my board, or boards that i go on, were deleted suddenly and without warning i would want to get to the bottom of it. I know that no one is stupid enough to deliberately violate the TOS so i think we should get a reason as to why the board was deleted. Most people think that they are following the TOS so if they cant understand why their board was deleted isnt it fair that they atleast know what not to do next time?

There's no use fighting them on this. Clearly the Proboards staff failed history, especially the section about freedom of speech and all that. These are unalienable rights that every human being is given BY LAW and do not change even by agreeing to some Terms of Service. Proboards tells us to follow the law or they will shut our sites down yet they break the law themselves. Nice double standard.
The only reason they shut your board down is because they couldn't spy on you because it was in another language. Mine was shut down because supposedly a STAFF member posted "illegal activities". No one on my site would be stupid enough to post illegal activities so I'm convinced they took someone else's word over mine. Nice way to lose a legion of potential users.
Don't feel bad dude. There's already several campaigns launched against this site due to similar reasons so I don't expect it to remain here much longer. Get a V-Bulletin
