Metal?

On my site, one of the types of markings your character may have is metallic stripes. I was attempting to make a manip for my character. I found it obscenely hard to create such an effect. Anyone have any tips for me? Note: The metal I was trying to convey the impression of was copper.

That is a very valiant attempt.

I'd suggest trying to find some tutorials on making metal effects. Otherwise, maybe in the lining, you could add more depth. For example, right now, it looks like "perfect copper" as opposed to "realistic copper". Most metals have small lines within them.

Either way, I think yours looks very nice, just might need to be a little more realistic.

also, look at the sharpness of the original pic. the horse itself is a little blurred; to make the lines seem part of the horse, there should be an equal amount of blurriness to the lines.
