skin advice

Hey everyone :3 I just need some quick advice on a skin. This is a tester site, so I dont want anyone to think im advertising D:

But anyway, does the board color look okay to you all? Ive tried all kinds of lighter shades, but it always looks way to bright and really weird o.o

it's very monochromatic. =X if that's the effect you'd like then that's well accomplished. personally, i find it to be a bit boring. the banner is also gigantic. i have a pretty large resolution, and on loading your site it takes up all of the screen height wise.

also, it seems you're using work from devaintArt. is that yours?
if it's not, be sure that you got permission to use it, or you're violating TOS.

and i agree that it is boring, Ive been playing with it, and I cant seem to get more color or something into it. Idk XD

ah, wow. =D congrats. ^-^ it's always nice when dA artists make you stuff.

why don't you try using those pinks/purples in the lighting in the banner for the cat backgrounds, or whatever. i find it's always good to use banner colours when deciding how to colour your forum.

case in point - kamitest.proboards.com/ - this layout is still rather mono-chromatic for my current tastes. xD but see how i vary the shades with colours pulled from the banner? =] try that. it may take a bit of playing around. -nod-

you're welcome! also you may want to try a site like this: www.degraeve.com/color-palette/

put your banner in there, and it'll generate two colour palettes you can use, one 'vibrant' and one 'muted'. ^-^

there's also this site:

where it'll give you more than one set of options. =]

The banner's sick imo. Might try changing up the side table images, though. Gets a bit repetitive seeing the same clip over and over. =p

Overall, looks good. :3

The banner is absolutely stunning BUT tis is a bit larger. I suggest cutting it down 50% or so. Also as stated by Elli the wolf's face on the sidebar menus gets old.

I also suggest changing the color scheme. I wold recommend bright purple for the text. And maybe for the border as well.
