[RR] Can I create new members programmatically?

I searched for an answer to this but to no avail.

I would like to create new forum member accounts directly from my website user database. It this possible maybe by sending http reqests or is there an API for doing background operations?

Unfortunately, I don't believe this is possible. All new members have to register through the registration page, agreeing to the TOS and submitting the relevant information.

Additionally, Proboards has to control the information coming in, so they can only have things submitted to their servers from their forms.

Is it possible? Yes, it is.

Is it easy? Probably not, depends on how well you can figure out how to get past the capcha or whatever you want to call it. But it's not impossible to do, there will always be a way to do it, it'd just be do you have the know-how, time, and resources you'd need.

Unless you were getting hundreds of signups a day or whatever, then it should be ok!

I was thinking of that board that wanted to transfer content and used some program to go to every page and grab contents. I figured a program to suddenly signup a bunch of users would have a similar effect on the server.

They did it in a short space of time, and getting all of the content is a hell of a lot different to registering a user.



And also, you won't "suddenly" register a bunch of users.
