blogger [blogspot] layout IDs?

i dunno if i worded the title right. =[ sorry if i didn't.
was just wondering if anyone was familiar with how the layout creation system worked for blogspot? eg: the CSS IDs, etc.

i'm currently using a pre-made layout, with modifications, and i want to completely change it. if anyone could give me a guide, or just a nudge in the right direction, i'd love you forever. :3

Just so you know, if you go on a blogspot, you can push "Ctrl + U" or View Source, and you can find all the ids and classes there
