hrm. imo the depth's a little off...? seems a bit flat to me. nice use of c4d's tho, and some good lighting. do think that the orange lines (presumably from a c4d) on the right could be taken out. colours are a bit muted, but i think that's a personal preference.

Yeah, depth's most likely off, I haven't made a tag in forever. My basics are off. I was also experimenting with colours. Colour balances, gradient maps and whatnot. :]

i'd definitely experiment with saturation a bit. saturation really (i've found) helps focal. mebbe a bit more sharpening by the right-hand (our right) side of the face, as that seems to be where the focal is.

text takes a bit away from the focal, i'd either leave it out, or re-work it to be a little more so that it is incorporated into where the head is? just a thought.

I experimented with the text too. XD I never really used to be good with text. Haha, I'll try to remember those tips for the next tag. For this one, I was challenged by a friend not to smudge because that'd my predominant style. XD

Good lighting, C4D is in there well, I think its generally quite well composed tbh.

I'm with Kami on the depth, it seems off - and it all seems quite bright and the colours don't seem as deep as they should be. Levels adjustment needed maybe?

It's good though, and does remind me a lot of the, dare I say it, old days.

I'm agreeing on the depth front - it looks like you've added a blurred layer at the end on lighten or something and that's just destroyed the focal point. Also agree with kami on the orange bits on the right of the tag - they break the flow of it there. Having just commented on the blurriness there's also a bit of excessive sharpness in the c4ds around the centre lol. Light source seems to be in the wrong place as far as I can tell - the light's coming from above rather than below isn't it? Would also agree on the colours - I think you've probably over-done it with the adjustment layers and you've lost any contrast or variation. Definitely not too shabby for a comeback though - I had a go at a tag the other day and it was so embarrassingly bad that I didn't dare post it on here.

@anselm: Thanks. Yeah, the depth and colouring are experimental. I'll see waht I can do with the levels for my next one. Haha, old days? Dun dun dunnnnnn!

dude: Yeah, that lighten layer would be my bad. I just love shiny things. :3 My bad again, I like really sharpened effects. Haha. And I see what you mean with the lighting, I always just to mess that up back then too. Haha, why not post yours? :]

even rusty, you're way too good at using c4ds. better than i ever was. xD

nice text, colors would've been good if they weren't so washed out. Depth is fine, imo altho the one effect under his eyes should not be blurred and i think thats maybe whats throwing some people off. also, if you think about it realistically, the lighting is screwy seeing as the front of his helmet should be brightly lit from the explosion in front of him. otherwise, muy bueno. <3 uuu.

Haha, I remember messing up lighting exactly like this in a tag back then. I personally love C4Ds so I had just to have them in. Haha. XD Thanks.
